Outlook (2025-26)
Bryson Oots joined the Huskers in late-June 2025 after three outstanding seasons at NCAA Division II William Jewell College in Liberty, Mo. A two-time NCAA Midwest Regional qualifier, Oots tied for 27th at the 2025 Midwest Regional in St. Joseph, Mo., as a junior. The Great Lakes Valley Conference Player of the Year, Oots finished with an impressive 72.17 stroke average over 34 rounds in 2024-25. He hopes to make an instant impact on the Nebraska lineup as senior in 2025-26.
During his three seasons at William Jewell, Oots posted a 73.22 stroke average over 86 rounds while winning six individual tournament titles. He fired career-best rounds of 66 on three occasions.
"Bryson has had an outstanding career at William Jewell and has earned the right to play at the Division I level," Cornell said. "He will be a great fit for our competitiveness and will give us a great shot in the arm. I'm extremely happy for him and excited that he's going to be a Husker."
Junior (2024-25, William Jewell)
Oots earned NCAA Division II PING All-Midwest Region honors for the second consecutive season as a junior at William Jewell in 2024-25. Oots produced a team-best 72.17 stroke average over 34 rounds for the Cardinals on his way to being named the GLVC Player of the Year. He won four individual tournament titles and helped the Cardinals to three tournament championships during the season. Oots tied his career best with a season-low 66 at the Hillcat Classic.
Sophomore (2023-24, William Jewell)
A first-team All-GLVC selection, Oots captured PING All-Midwest Region accolades after earning a trip to the NCAA Division II Midwest Regional for the first time in his career. He finished with a team-best 72.21 stroke average over 28 rounds, including individual tournament titles at the Kansas City Cup (138) and the Tulsa Cup (career-best 208). He fired a career-best 66 on his way to victory at the Tulsa Cup. He tied for 51st in a 109-golfer field at regionals, including an opening-round 68 (-2).
Freshman (2022-23, Williams Jewell)
In his first season of collegiate golf, Oots closed with a 75.29 stroke average over 24 rounds for the Cardinals. He produced five top-10 individual finishes, including a fifth-place finish at the Kansas City Cup with a three-round total of 228. He fired a season-low 70 at the Tunica Cup and at the GLVC Championships. Oots led William Jewell with a ninth-place individual finish at the conference tournament with a 222. He was the top Cardinal finisher at six of his nine tournaments on the year.
High School
Oots was the Missouri Class 5 state champion as a senior at Staley High School in 2021-22. A two-time all-state selection, Oots was also the Kenneth Smith Award winner, which is presented annually to the best boys high school golfer in the Kansas City area.
