Junior (2024-25)
Quinn Yost plans to compete for regular time in the Husker lineup during his third season in Lincoln. The junior from Farmington, N.M., owns five career top-25 finishes at Nebraska, including three in 2023-24. He was also a GCAA Scholar All-American and an Academic All-Big Ten selection in 2024.

Yost made his season debut by competing as an individual in Nebraska's "B" lineup at the Git-R-Done Invitational (Sept. 23-24). He performed well with a solid three-round total of 216 (+3) that included an opening-round 69 (-2) on a challenging par-71, 7,003-yard layout at the Firethorn Golf Club in Lincoln. Yost took 28th in a strong 65-player field.

His performance at the Git-R-Done Invitational helped him earn a lineup spot for the Huskers at the Badger Invitational in Verona, Wis. (Sept. 29-Oct. 1). Yost was Nebraska's No. 4 finisher in Wisconsin, covering the par-72, 7,286-yard layout of the University Ridge Golf Course with a three-round total of 226 (+10), including a second-round 73. He tied for 53rd overall in a 90-golfer field.

Yost owns a 73.67 stroke average over six rounds in 2024-25.

Sophomore (2023-24)
Yost produced his first career top-10 finish while making his first lineup appearance of the season for the Huskers at the Badger Invitational (Oct. 1-3). The sophomore fired a career-best three-round total of 212 (-4) on the par-72, 7,271-yard layout of the University Ridge Golf Club in Wisconsin. He led Nebraska’s lineup by tying for ninth individually, including a 69 (-3) to open the tournament. He added an even-par 72 in the second round, before closing the tournament with a 71 (-1). He helped the Huskers to a sixth-place team finish in an 18-team field that included six 2023 NCAA Regional qualifiers.

In his second appearance in the Husker lineup, Yost added another top-20 finish at the Purdue Fall Invitational. He added a career-low round on the first day, shooting a 68 (-3) on the par-71 7,275-yard layout at the Ackerman-Allen Golf Course in West Lafayette. He posted scores of 74 (+3) and 72 (+1) to finish at 214 (+1), tying for 17th.

Yost produced his best performance of the spring with a tie for second with an even-par 216 while playing as an individual at the Stampede at the Creek (April 8-9). Yost’s career-best finish came on a par-72, 7,627-yard layout at Indian Creek Golf Club in Omaha and included rounds of 71, 75 and 70, as he finished just one shot back of teammate and champion Davis Johnson.

Yost’s performance earned him a lineup spot at the Hawkeye Invitational (April 13-14), where he tied for 57th with a 219 (+6) on a par-71, 7,197-yard layout at the Finkbine Golf Course. Yost’s effort in Iowa City included a career-best-tying 68 in the second round, sandwiched between rounds of 75 and 76.

Yost was Nebraska’s subsititute at the 2024 Big Ten Championship at Scioto Country Club in Columbus, Ohio (April 26-28) but did not compete in the event.

He opened his spring with a lineup appearance for the Huskers at The Gator (Feb. 16-17), where he managed a 226 (+16) on the par-70, 6,701-yard layout at the Mark Bostick Golf Course in Gainesville, Fla. He tied for 75th with rounds of 73, 74 and 79 as Nebraska’s No. 4 finisher.

Yost was back in the lineup at The Johnnie-O at Sea Island (March 11-12), tying for 76th as NU’s No. 5 finisher at 227 (+11) with rounds of 71, 76 and 80 on a par-72, 7,060-yard course at the Sea Island Golf Club in St. Simons Island, Ga.

Yost closed the fall season with a 227 (+11) at the Everett Buick GMC Classic (Oct. 16-17) in Little Rock, Ark., where he tied for 68th with rounds of 77, 76 and 74 as NU’s No. 5 finisher.

Yost finished the season fourth on the team with a 73.38 stroke average over 21 rounds in 2023-24.

Freshman (2022-23)
Yost competed for lineup time throughout his freshman season at Nebraska, finishing with a 76.06 stroke average over 17 rounds for the Huskers in 2022-23.

Yost earned the No. 3 lineup spot at the season-opening Badger Invitational in Wisconsin (Sept. 11-13). He tied for 20th as Nebraska’s No. 2 finisher at the rain-shortened event with a 143 (74-69), including a career-best 69 (-2) in the second round.

He was back in the lineup for the William H. Tucker Intercollegiate in his home state of New Mexico (Sept. 23-24), where he tied for 45th and second among the Huskers at 222 (74-78-70).

Yost closed the fall by carding a 231 (79-79-73) to finish 71st at the White Sands Invitational at Paradise Island, Bahamas (Oct. 28-30).

After going 0-2 at the Big Ten Match Play to open the spring, Yost was the No. 5 finisher in Nebraska’s lineup at The Prestige in Palm Springs, Calif. (Feb. 20-22), tying for 112th at 237 (78-81-78).

He was back in the lineup at the Seahawk Intercollegiate (March 26-27), tying for 87th as NU’s No. 5 finisher with a 238 (82-79-77).

Yost played his final tournament of the spring as an individual at the Stampede at The Creek in Elkhorn, Neb. (April 11-12). He notched a career best by tying for 17th with a 222 (73-74-75).

Before Nebraska
Yost produced the biggest win of his junior career by capturing the title at the Notah Begay III Junior Golf National Championships (Nov. 13-15, 2021) in Louisiana. Going head-to-head against some of the nation’s best junior golfers, Yost fired a three-round score of 204 (-12) at Koasati Pines at the Coushatta Golf Course in Kinder, La. After shooting one-over-par 73 in the first round, Yost fired a 64 (-8) in the second round to match his career best. He secured the title with a final-round 67 (-5).

Yost added a third-place finish at the Tournament of Champions played at Walt Disney World - Palms in Orlando, Fla., in December of 2020.

Yost, who was the top-ranked golfer in New Mexico according to Junior Golf Scoreboard, qualified for the national event on Aug. 7, 2021 by tying for first at the New Mexico Regional with even-par 144 over two rounds at the Twin Warriors Golf Club.

As a junior at Piedra Vista High School, Yost won the Class 5A individual state championship with a 67 (-5) over 18 holes. He helped Piedra Vista to a state runner-up finish as a team. He added a runner-up finish with an even-par 144 over two rounds at Twin Warriors Golf Club as a senior in 2022 to help Piedra Vista to a third-place team finish.

In May of 2021, Yost also won the Junior Americas Cup/IMG Junior World Qualifier with a two-round total of 140 after back-to-back rounds of 70 at the New Mexico Tech Golf Course.

In August of 2019, Yost was one of nine teenage golfers selected to take part in a four-day golf academy hosted by World Golf Hall of Fame member and broadcaster Nick Faldo.

Personal
The son of Tom and Kelly Yost, Quinn was born Oct. 29, 2003. The management major was a GCAA Scholar All-American and claimed Academic All-Big Ten honors in 2024. He is a four-time Nebraska Scholar-Athlete Honor Roll selection.
