Sophomore (2024-25)
Rudy Sautron rewrote the Nebraska record book in his first season with the Huskers, setting the Nebraska stroke average record (71.70) while helping NU set the team single-season stroke average record (288.38).

He produced four top-10 finishes, including a tournament title in his NCAA Division I debut at the Gopher Invitational (Sept. 8-9) with a school sophomore record 208 (-5). Sautron recorded his first of six eagles on the season in the first round on No. 18 on the par-71, 7,586-yard layout at Windsong Farm Golf Club. He closed with rounds of 69-70-69 to match the school record set by Brady Schnell (2004-05) and Seth Porter (1999-2000). Sautron was named the Big Ten Golfer of the Week (Sept. 12).

He closed the fall with another record-setting performance, firing a school-record 63 (-9) in the final round of the Steelwood Collegiate to tie his own sophomore record with a 208 (-8). Sautron finished with his third top-10 showing of the season by tying for sixth on the par-72, 7,096-yard layout in Loxley, Ala. His record-setting final round included a pair of eagles.

Sautron notched his second top-25 finish by tying for 15th at the Badger Invitational in Verona, Wis. (Sept. 29-Oct. 1). He closed with a 216 (E).

He added his second top-five finish by tying for third with a 213 (+3) to lead the Huskers to a third-place finish at the Qubein Cup (Oct. 14-15). Sautron fired rounds of 69, 74 and 70 on a par-70, 7,130-yard layout at Sedgefield CC in Greensboro, N.C.

Sautron opened the spring at No. 77 in the national rankings, before playing two rounds at the Palmas Del Mar Collegiate in Puerto Rico (Feb. 9-11). He battled illness during the tournament and could not compete in the second round after opening with a 76 (+4). He closed with a 73 (+1).

He bounced back by tying for eighth in the weather-shortened Johnnie-O at Sea Island in St. Simons Island, Ga. (March 17-18). Despite strong winds, Sautron shot an even-par 70 in the first round, before closing with a 69 (-1). 

Sautron registered his sixth top-25 finish with a tie for 12th at the Bell Bank “Pay It Forward” Collegiate in Arizona (March 24-25). His 212 (-4) included a second-round 67 (-5) at Wigwam Resort. He helped the Huskers to a third-place finish with a season-best 849 (-15).

He tied for 38th with a 221 (+8) at NU’s Git-R-Done Invitational (Sept. 23-24). Sautron helped the Huskers to third place at the Tiger Intercollegiate (April 7-8), tying for 55th with a 222 (+12), including a second-round 66 (-4).

He helped NU to a season-best runner-up finish at the Robert Kepler Invite (April 18-19) with a final-round 68 (-3). He opened with a 74, before his second round was vacated by a technicality. He closed his first season at NU by tying for 50th with a 221 (+11) at the Big Ten Championship (April 25-27). Sautron opened with a 69 (-1), before managing a 73 (+3) in the second round. He ended the tournament with a 79 (+9) at the Baltimore Country Club.

Before Nebraska (Cameron, 2023-24)
A Golf Coaches Association of America Division II All-Freshman Team member in 2023-24, Sautron signed with Nebraska in March of 2024. The former vice champion of France produced eight top-10 finishes in 11 tournaments as a freshman at Cameron (Oklahoma).

Sautron qualified as an individual to the NCAA Division II West/South Central Super Regional. He was also named to the Division II PING All-South Central Region team. He tied for 42nd at the Super Regional with a 219 (+6), including rounds of 73, 75 and 71 on the par-71, 7,242-yard layout in Las Cruces, N.M. (May 9-11).

Sautron was named the Cameron Freshman of the Year across all sports. He was also the Lone Star Conference Freshman of the Year.

Over 32 rounds (2,297 strokes, +6), Sautron posted a 71.78 stroke average with 16 of his 32 rounds better than par over 11 tournaments.

Sautron took third at the Lone Star Championships with a 210 (-6) on a 7,157-yard, par-72 layout at the WinStar Golf Club in Thackerville, Okla. (April 22-23). Sautron fired back-to-back rounds of 69 (-3) to open the tournament before adding an even-par 72.

He finished in the top 10 in all five fall tournaments, including a win at the Hrnciar Tournament at the Territory Golf Club in Duncan, Okla. (Oct. 16-17), firing a 209 (-7), which included an opening-round 66 (-6). He shot a season-best 65 (-7) in the first round of the GAC Preview at Lake Hefner North in Oklahoma City. He tied for ninth at 208 (-8) to help Cameron to a team championship. He shot a career-best 207 (-9) to tie for sixth at the Missouri Southern State Invitational at the Shangri-La Country Club in Monkey Island, Okla. (Sept. 25-26).

Sautron took third at 139 (-3) at the Ryan Palmer Foundation Invitational in Amarillo, Texas (Oct. 2-3). He closed the fall with a tie for ninth at even-par 213 (71-68-74) at the Copperhead Championship in Palm Harbor, Fla. (Oct. 23-24).

After struggling to a tie for 45th at 234 (+18) at the Houston Classic (Feb. 12-13), Sautron bounced back with a top-five finish at the Midwestern State Invitational on a par-71 course at the Wichita Falls Country Club in Texas (March 25-26). He posted a three-round total of 215 (+2) that included rounds of 73, 74 and 68 (-3).

He added his sixth top-10 finish in seven collegiate events with an eighth-place finish at the Rattler Invitational at the Dominion Country Club in San Antonio, Texas (Feb. 19-20). He finished with a 217 (+1).

Sautron notched his seventh top-25 showing with a 23rd-place finish with a 226 (+16) at the Oak Tree Invitational in Edmond, Okla. (March 18-19) on a par-70, 7,116-yard course at the Oak Tree Country Club, before closing the regular season with a tie for 28th with a 215 (-1) at the RJGA Palm Valley Classic in Goodyear, Ariz. (April 8-9).

Personal
The son of David and Marie Sautron, Rudy has a sister, Mathilde. A management major, Sautron was a GCAA Scholar All-American in 2025. He earned spots on the Nebraska Scholar-Athlete Honor Roll in the fall and spring semesters of 2024-25. He was also a member of the 2025 Tom Osborne Citizenship Team.
