2025 (Sophomore)
Alex Nitache was the only Husker to compete in the all-around at the Rocky Mountain Open. Nitache placed second with a 77.60 and hit a career best on floor exercise (13.45), pommel horse (11.30), still rings (12.45), parallel bars (13.85) and high bar (13.45). Nitache scored a 13.10 on vault. With this performance, the sophomore placed second in the All-Around and qualified for the Winter Cup.

Nitache had a stellar outing at Illinois. The Sophomore earned a career-high of 13.70 on vault. The Tennessee native earned his second event title after a three-way tie on p-bars 13.50.

2024 (Freshman)
In his first season with the Huskers, Nitache competed in three events for Nebraska, managing to take home an individual title on vault in NU’s victory over Penn State as Nitache put up his career bests on vault with a 14.85 and parallel bars with a 12.85.

Outside of the gym, Nitache was named to the Nebraska Scholar Athlete Honor Roll and Tom Osborne Citizenship team.


Before Nebraska

Nitache competed for Gymtek Academy under Head Coach Matt Henry. The Knoxville, Tenn. native qualified for the 2022 National U.S. Championships, where he prevailed to finish second in the all-around, and finished in first on vault in the competition. Nitache is also a two-time national team member, along with a 2021 U.S. National Champion.
