2024 (Junior)
Joey Pepe was in the Husker lineup in three events this season, and at the Rocky Mountain Open, he competed in all five events. He topped his personal best in the high bar against Penn State with a 13.65 and matched that mark against Army and Greenville.
Outside of the gym, Pepe was also a member of the Tom Osborne Citizenship team.
2023 (Sophomore)
Joey Pepe made seven appearances on the season, competing on parallel bars and high bar. He set career bests on both, with a 13.00 on the parallel bars and a 13.05 on the high bar. Pepe earned a spot on the Nebraska Scholar-Athlete Honor Roll for his work in the classroom.
2022 (Freshman)
Joey Pepe helped the Huskers to a second-place conference finish and fourth-place national finish during the 2021-22 season
Before Nebraska
Joey Pepe trained at North Valley Gymnastics in Peoria, Arizona under head coach Travis Rainer. He competed at the 2021 U.S. Gymnastics Championships where he finished second on high bar, third in the all-around, rings, and vault, and fourth on parallel bars. At the 2021 Men's Development Program National Championships, Pepe finished first on parallel bars, third on rings, fourth on vault and high bar, and fifth in the all-around. At the 2019 Junior Olympic National Championships, Pepe finished first in the all-around, vault and high bar, fifth on floor and seventh on parallel bars. At the 2016 Junior Olympic National Championships, Pepe finished sixth on vault and eighth on parallel bars.
Personal
Joey was born on February 2, 2003. He is the son of George and Emily Pepe, and has four older siblings, Zackary, Alex, Ethan and Dylan. In his free time, Joey likes to listen to music, travel and explore new adventures with friends.
