2025-26: (Sophomore at LSU)
In his two seasons at LSU, Calin Stirbu holds overall records of 6-8 in singles and 8-6 in doubles. In his sophomore season he helped the Tigers to a 26-7 record, one of their best records in program history as they joined the 2026 NCAA Men’s Tennis Tournament as the No. 7 seed that season. The sophomore obtained 10 wins in between both doubles and singles this season while also battling with injuries throughout his time at LSU. 

2024-25: (Freshman at LSU)
In his first collegiate season, Stirbu competed in just 17 matches his freshman year seeing limited time on the courts. 

Joining the Huskers
Nebraska men’s tennis announced the signing of Colin Stirbu, the sophomore LSU transfer. The Romania native joined Nebraska in the fall of 2026. 

“Excited to have Calin join the program," Nebraska head coach Peter Kobelt said. "We believe he has all the right qualities you need to be a great student athlete here at Nebraska, on the court, in the classroom and in the community." 

Before Nebraska
Stirbu entered his collegiate career with an ITF juniors career-high ranking of 88 and an ATP singles career-high ranking of 1194. In his junior career he took two singles titles in 2022 in both the J5 Targu Jiu and the J4 Kramfors. In doubles, he took an impressive seven titles winning those titles within a four year span.

Calin is planning on majoring in Child, Youth, and Family Studies with a minor in Sociology.
