2025-26: (Senior at Lubbock Christian)
In his fourth season with Lubbock Christian, Kelly Giese appeared in around 80 matches in singles and doubles in his 2025-26 season alone. Giese went 34-7 in singles peaking and completeing the season at No. 3 nationally and 24-14 in doubles reaching a rank of No. 11 in the ITA rankings. His 34 singles win was a program record at Lubbock Christian as he went on a 20 match win streak from February to May. In this season, Giese was named LSC Singles Player of the Year, LSC Singles Player of the Year, LSC Doubles Team of the Year and earned LSC Championships MVP honors. Giese topped off his time at Lubbock Christian by becoming the first ever two-time All-American in LCU men's tennis history helping bring the Chaps to an NCAA Divsion II Men's Tennis Tournament quarterfinals run.
Off the court, Giese was named to the LSC All-Academic Team and the LSC Sportsmanship Team.
2024-25: (Junior at Lubbock Christian)
In his redshirt sophomore season, Giese posted a 24-9 singles record and 19-7 doubles record. He was ranked as high as No. 10 in singles and No. 28 in doubles that season. Giese also earned ITA Most Improved Player in the South Central Region along with being named Lone Star Conference Player of the Year. Off the court he was an ITA Division II Scholar Athlete.
2023-24: (Sophomore at Lubbock Christian)
Giese appeared in only nine singles and doubles matches and ended up claiming a medical redshirt.
2022-23: (Freshman at Lubbock Christian)
In his first collegiate seson, Giese went 18-10 in singles play battling at the No. 1 and 2 spots. In doubles he posted an 18-7 record earning him a spot on the All-LSC First Team (doubles) and Honorable Mention (singles).
Joining the Huskers
Nebraska men's tennis head coach Peter Kobelt announced in December 2025 that Lubbock Christian University transfer Kelly Giese will join the Huskers for the 2026-27 season.
"We are really excited to have Kelly join us next fall," Kobelt said. "We believe he embodies everything it means to be a Husker student-athlete. We expect him to make a huge impact on the court, in the classroom and in the community."
Before Nebraska
The redshirt junior from Manhattan Beach, California comes to the Big Red after four seasons with Lubbock Christian University. Giese appeared in over 80 matches for the Division II university this past 2025-26 season bringing them to an NCAA Divsion II Men's Tennis Tournament quarterfinals run.

Personal
Kelly is the son of Mahlone and Doug Giese. He has two sisters named Lindsay and Madi. Kelly is looking to get a Graduate Certificate in Financial Analytics.
