Ava Makovicka played in four games this season and amassed 27 minutes, with her most minutes coming in Nebraska’s 5-2 win over Creighton in September.

Makovicka did not play for the Huskers in the 2023 season.
High School
Makovicka played at Gretna High School where she led her team to three consecutive state championship titles in 2021, 2022 and 2023. Her 2023 Gretna team finished ranked second in the U.S. according to the United Soccer Coaches girls national high school rankings. She recorded 32 goals and 14 assists throughout her career and was named to the 2022 and 2023 All-Nebraska first team and Super-State first team. Additionally, she was a member of the 2022 and 2023 First Team All-State midfielder and All-Metro midfielder.
Other Information
Makovicka played club for 402 DA, where she is coached by Kenan Sahuric. In 2021 and 2022, her club team was two-time state cup champions, and she was named Nebraska State Cup Best XI.
Personal
Ava is the daughter of Jeff and Tracy Makovicka and was born on Feb. 16, 2005. She has four sisters, Jadyn, Camryn, Claire and Ella. She is former high school teammates with current Husker standout, Sarah Weber. Also, her father played football at Nebraska from 1991-95 and her uncle, Joel, played from 1994-98. Ava plans to major in Nutrition, Exercise and Health Sciences at UNL.
