Rachel Brennan appeared in nine matches for the Huskers on her way to registering seven shot attempts, including one shot on goal in the NCAA Tournament First Round victory over Southeastern Louisiana.
High School
Tabbed as a top 150 recruit by ESPNHS, Rachel Brennan was the lone in-state product to sign with Nebraska in 2013, joining the Huskers from Millard North High School.
Brennan was one of the top players in the state under Coach John Walsh, as she finished her career ranked third in school history with 74 goals.
Brennan helped the Mustangs to a runner-up finish in 2013, falling 1-0 to Millard West in the state title game. Brennan was a Lincoln Journal Star Super-State and Omaha World-Herald All-Nebraska selection after scoring nine goals and notching 12 assists to help Millard North outscore its opponents 69-6 on the season.
Brennan was named the captain of both All-Nebraska and Super-State teams as a sophomore in 2011 and was a first-team selection again in 2012 following her junior season.
As a sophomore in 2011, Brennan scored 26 goals and led the Mustangs to the Class A state title with the game-winning goal in overtime against Lincoln Southeast.
Other Information
During the club season, Brennan plays for former Husker Becky (Hornbacher) Sanow in the Omaha Football Club. A four-time team captain, Brennan has twice been named OFC Female Player of the Year and helped the team to Nebraska State Cup championships in 2010 and 2011.
Personal Information
Rachel is the daughter of Tom and Sandi Brennan. She was born on March 5, 1995. She has two brothers, Jake and Sam. Rachel has not declared a major at Nebraska, but is a two-time member of the Nebraska Scholar-Athlete Honor Roll.
