Elise Nelson

Elise Nelson, PsyD., CMPC joined Nebraska as an Athletic Psychologist in July 2025. Dr. Nelson works with several Husker programs, including men’s basketball, soccer, men’s and women’s gymnastics, and women’s golf. She provides mental health and sport psychology services to student-athletes and assists in consultation and educational outreach services to student-athletes, coaches and athletics support staff.

Prior to joining Nebraska Athletics, Dr. Nelson completed her doctoral internship in the University of Oklahoma Athletics Department. She received her PsyD., in clinical psychology from Azusa Pacific University and is a Certified Mental Performance Consultant (CMPC) through the Association of Applied Sport Psychology.

Dr. Nelson received her undergraduate degree in Kinesiology from the University of Kentucky in 2018.
