Nebraska Scholar-Athlete Honor Roll (Fall 2024)
Freshman (2024-25)
Lunn swam in three relays during the dual against Iowa and Rutgers. She swam with Riley Miklos, Amelia Riggott and Gena Jorgenson in the 200 free relay (1:36.77) which placed fifth. She competed in the 400 medley (sixth, 3:49.97) and the 400 free relay (seventh, 3:33.61). Personally, she swam in the 100 and 200 fly, which she secured seventh-place finishes in both.
The freshman from South Dakota competed in several events against Illinois. She swam in the 200 fly (2:04.59), 100 fly (57.24), and the 400 free relay (3:37.70).
In a meet against the Omaha Mavs, Lunn impressively secured a season best in the 50 free (25.95) as well as a third-place finish in the 500 free (5:21.23). Alongside Sydney McCracken, Amelia Riggott, and Jenna Brown, Lunn and her team captured a fourth place finish in the 200 medley relay (1:49.44).
Lunn gathered a personal bests in both the 500 free (4:57.12) as well as the 200 fly (2:02.74) at the Hawkeye Invitational in late November.
Jazmyn Lunn secured a fourth-place finish in the 500 free event (5:22.52) in a dual against South Dakota State at the Marshall Center pool Nov. 8 2024. Lunn also helped contribute to a fifth-place finish in the 400 medley relay (4:04.60).
Lunn posted two seasonal bests in a dual against the Kansas Jayhawks (Nov. 1). She delivered a fifth-place finish in the 200 fly (2:05.28) and a sixth-place finish in the 100 freestyle (54.32). She also contributed to a third-place finish in the 400 freestyle alongside teammates JoJo Randby, Riley Miklos and Anna Vlachou.
In a dual against the Iowa State Cyclones at the Devaney Center (Oct. 25), Lunn recorded a fifth-place finish in the 200 fly (2:08.96).
Lunn posted successful finishes in a dual against the Iowa Hawkeyes (Oct. 18) with fifth-place in the 100 (58.67) and 200 (2:10.93) butterfly. She also contributed to the fifth-place finish in the 400 freestlye relay (3:46.96) as a leg.
Jazmyn Lunn opened her Husker career in Nebraska's season-opening double-dual with No. 24 Minnesota and South Dakota at the Devaney Natatorium (Oct. 4). She notched a sixth-place finish in the 100 butterfly (59.77), while adding an eighth-place effort in the 200 freestyle (1:57.50). She also swam legs in the 200 medley relay and 400 free relay for the Huskers against the Golden Gophers and Coyotes.
Before Nebraska
A two-time state champion with the Sioux Falls Swim Team, Lunn was the top-ranked prospect in the state of South Dakota for the class of 2024. She earned 87 individual state titles, 13 overall high point state titles and currently holds nine state records, including five individual records and four relay records. At the 2024 State A Championship Meet, Lunn took six first-place finishes and set career-bests in the 50 freestyle (24.37) and the 100 IM (59.64).
Personal
The daughter of Cory and Melanie Lunn, Jazmyn Lunn was born on March 6, 2006. She has one brother, Tyson and one sister, Tafney. Lunn will major in Graphic Design with the goal of being a graphic designer for a professional sports franchise.
“I chose Nebraska because the culture is incredible, and they make sure all of their athletes are taken care of in and out of the pool,” Lunn said.
