Redshirt Freshman (2024-25)
Jenna Brown produced strong performances for the Huskers in her redshirt freshman year in the freestyle and butterfly along with relay events. She totaled 11 top-five performances, including six top-three finishes.
Brown began the season with a solid showing in the 100 butterfly (57.96) in a dual win over Kansas, grabbing a sixth-place finish. She put up strong times at the Hawkeye Invitational in late November, including a 2:01.94 in the 200 fly to earn a fourth-place finish. She added a 4:56.05 in the 500 free in Iowa. She appeared in several exhibition swims, including a 200 freestyle time of 1:50.58 at the conference championships.
Brown contributed in the 200 and 400 medley relays as well as the 400 free relay. In a tri-dual with Iowa at Rutgers, Brown helped NU 400 medley (3:49.97) and 400 free (3:30.40) relay teams to sixth-place finishes. She also assisted in the 200 medley relay against Illinois to secure a fifth-place finish with a time of 1:45.27.
Redshirt (2023-24)
Brown took a redshirt season in her first year at Nebraska in 2023-24. The native of Louisville, Ky., performed well in the classroom and claimed sports on the Nebraska Scholar-Athlete Honor Roll in both the fall and spring semesters of 2023-24.
Before Nebraska
Brown competed primarily in the 200 butterfly and 200 freestyle for duPont Manual High School in Louisville, Ky., where she placed second in the 200 freestyle and fifth in the 200 butterfly at the 2023 KHSSA Championships. In 2022, she earned a fourth-place finish in the 200 free and fifth in the 100 fly. She placed fourth in the 200 free and eighth in the 100 fly in 2021 and fifth in the 200 free and eighth in the 100 fly in 2020.
Personal
The daughter of Dan and Angela Brown, Jenna was born on Aug. 17, 2005. She has one brother, Jackson. Jenna is majoring in management and has earned three spots on the Nebraska Scholar-Athlete Honor Roll. She was named to the Tom Osborne Citizenship Team in 2024 for her service in the Lincoln community.
