Freshman (2024-25)
Gogel recorded two season bests in a dual against the Iowa State Cyclones at the Devaney Center (Oct. 25). She notched a fifth-place finish in the 100 breaststroke (1:06.78) and a seventh-place finish in the 200 breast (2:28.23).
Jenna continued her showing in a dual against the Iowa Hawkeyes (Oct. 18) by swimming the 100 (1:07.51) and 200 (2:26.54) breaststroke. She also added a swim in the 200 IM (2:13.68). Gogel also contributed to a fifth-place finish in the 400 freestlye relay (3:46.96).
Jenna Gogel made her collegiate debut for the Huskers in a double-dual with No. 24 Minnesota and South Dakota at the Devaney Natatorium (Oct. 4). Gogel competed in the 100 (1:07.13) and 200 (2:27.87) breaststroke events while adding a swim in the 200 IM (2:12.65).
Before Nebraska
Gogel capped off her senior campaign at Bentonville West with runner-up finishes in conference and at the Arkansas State Swim Meet. Individually, she captured first in the 100 breaststroke and second in the 200 IM at the 6A West Conference Championship. Gogel placed first in the 100 breaststroke (1:05.86) and second in the 200 IM (2:10.33) at the state championships, earning All-Arkansas Preps honors. She swam for Northwest Arkansas Aquatics where she was named to the Scholastic All-American Team and was the 2022-2023 Swimmer of the Year. Gogel also qualified for the US Open in the 100 breaststroke.
Personal
The daughter of Jeff Gogel and former Husker swimmer, BriAnna (Wilkins) Gogel, Jenna Gogel was born on September 1, 2005. She has two brothers, Chris, who swam at Minnesota State University, Mankato and Kyle, who played baseball at Morningside University and one sister, Brylee, who is a current member of the Track and Cross Country teams at Drury University. Gogel will study Business and Marketing at Nebraska.
“I chose Nebraska because of the incredible academic support for student athletes,” Gogel said. “The team and their team culture was beyond amazing and I felt like I fit right in. I believe Coach Pablo (Morales) and Coach Pat (Rowan) will take me to the next level in my swimming career.”
