Senior (2024-25)
In a dual against the Iowa State Cyclones at the Devaney Natatorium, Randby notched a runner-up finish and seasonal best in the 200 breaststroke (2:21.63). She also finished second in the 100 breast (1:04.02) as well as contributed to a first-place finish in the 200 medley relay (1:44.76). 

Randby continued her momentum in a dual against Iowa (Oct. 18) by posting impressive individual and relay performances. In the 100 breaststoke (1:04.37), JoJo placed third. She also placed fourth in the 100 freestyle (53.02). She contributed to a second-place finish in the 200 medly relay (1:44.81) as well as a fourth-place finish in the 400 freestyle relay (3:35.02). 

JoJo Randby got her senior season off to a solid start by winning the 100 breaststroke in Nebraska's season-opening double-dual with No. 24 Minnesota and South Dakota. Randby raced to a time of 1:03.43, tying teammate Maia Hall for the victory in the 100 breast. Randby added a fourth-place finish in the 200 breaststroke. She also swam legs in the 200 medley relay and 400 free relay for the Huskers against the Golden Gophers and Coyotes.

Junior (2023-24)
Randby was a leader for the Huskers in individual and relay events in 2023-24, producing six NCAA B cuts while capturing 15 top-three finishes. After breaking the 100 breaststroke school record (1:00.07) in 2023, Randby totaled five first-place finishes in the event as a junior. 

At the Hawkeye Invitational, Randby qualified for the 100 breaststroke finals with a time of 1:00.63 in the prelims. She swam to victory with a time of 1:00.54 in the finals to log an NCAA B Standard. She added a fourth-place finish in the 50 free at the Hawkeye Invite with a career-best 23.10.

At the Big Ten Championships, Randby qualified for the 100 breaststroke B final with a time of 1:01.40. She clocked a 1:01.65 in the final to finish 13th. Randby also helped Nebraska’s 200 medley relay to the No. 2 time in school history (1:39.42) for an eighth-place Big Ten finish. She was also part of the third-fastest 400 medley relay time (3:37.60) in school history.

Sophomore (2022-23)
Randby’s season was highlighted by her record-breaking performance at the Big Ten Championships. In the 100 breaststroke, Randby clocked a 1:00.10 in the prelims to shatter the 29-year-old school record. She broke the record again in the final with a 1:00.07 to place seventh overall. Randby tallied eight top-two finishes and six NCAA B Standard Cuts in the 100 breaststroke throughout the season. She added a career-best 2:13.25 in the 200 breaststroke final to place 12th and move up to No. 10 on the all-time list.

At the Minnesota and South Dakota double-dual, Randby swam to victory in 1:04.63. The mid-season Hawkeye Invitational was highlighted by Randby clocking a 1:01.20 in the 100 breaststroke prelims to notch her first NCAA B cut of the season. She went on to finish as runner-up in the event, while taking sixth in the 200 breaststroke (2:15.86) and eighth in the 100 freestyle (51.57). She also swam to second-place finishes in the 100 breast at the Iowa State (1:04.77), Iowa (1:04.84), Kansas (1:05.58) and Omaha (1:04.61) duals.

In the 200 breaststroke, Randby notched top-five finishes at the Iowa State (2:25.38) and Iowa (2:26.24) duals. She wrapped up dual season with a 100 breaststroke victory against Illinois (1:02.64) and a runner-up finish at Rutgers (1:01.66). Randby was one of five Huskers to compete at the CSCAA National Invitational Championships, where she brought in a pair of fourth-place finishes in the 50 and 100 breaststrokes.

Freshman (2021-22)
Randby grew to become one of Nebraska’s top swimmers in a variety of events. She was also a major asset in the relays during her freshman season. She kicked off her season at the South Dakota State dual, where she placed second in the 200 medley relay and took third in the 100 freestyle. She continued her dominant start in the dual against Iowa with a victory in the 200 medley relay and a runner-up finish in the 100 breaststroke. The Iowa State dual for Randby was highlighted by a fourth-place swim in the 50 freestyle. She notched another top-five finish in the 100 breaststroke against Kansas.

At the Mizzou Invitational, Randby swam to three top-15 finishes including seventh in the 100 breaststroke (1:03.99), 12th in the 100 freestyle (51.80) and 13th in the 50 freestyle (23.64).  Randby got the opportunity to compete on the national stage in three events at the U.S. Open Championships (Dec. 1-4). She was one of three Huskers to qualify for the B finals in the 100-meter breaststroke, placing 16th with a 1:14.49. She added an 18th-place finish in the 200-meter breaststroke (2:42.11) and finished 32nd in the 50-meter freestyle (27.25).

In the final dual of the season, Randby took second in the 50 free (23.70) and third in the 100 breast (1:03.22). Randby made a pair of C final appearances in the breaststroke events at the Big Ten Championships, placing 18th in the 100 (1:01.50) and 20th in the 200 breaststroke (2:14.89). She also earned a spot on NU’s 200 and 400 freestyle relays at the conference meet.

Before Nebraska
A nine-time Nebraska state swimming champion, Randby had a total of 17 career top-six finishes at the Nebraska state meet, including five second-place showings. She also powered Omaha Marian to back-to-back state team titles in 2020 and 2021, while helping the team to runner-up finishes in 2018 and 2019. A 10-time NISCA All-American, Randby won individual state titles in the 100 breaststroke (1:01.29) and 50 freestyle (23.01) and added relay championships in the 200 medley and 200 freestyle during her senior season.

Randby swam the second leg of Omaha Marian’s state championship 200-yard medley relay team (1:45.46) as a sophomore in 2019. She added four runner-up state finishes in 2019, including the 100 breast (1:03.21), a tie for second in the 50 free (24.03) and second-place finishes for Marian’s 200 (1:37.84) and 400 free relay (3:35.90) teams. Omaha Marian also took second as a team at the state meet. She helped Marian to a 2018 state runner-up team finish as a freshman. She earned a silver medal as a member of Marian’s 200 free relay and helped Marian’s 200 medley relay to a third-place finish. She added a fifth-place finish in the 100 breast and a sixth-place showing in the 200 IM.

Randby also competed for Greater Omaha Aquatics. A four-time USA Swimming Scholastic All-American (2018, 2019, 2020, 2021), Randby was a member of the National Honor Society, Science National Honor Society and Math National Honor Society, while carrying a 4.29 GPA. 
    
Personal
The daughter of Bill and Julie Randby, (Jocelyn) JoJo was born Jan. 14, 2003 in Omaha, Neb. She has one older brother Will and a twin sister, Maddie. A biological sciences and management major, Randby is a three-time second-team CSCAA Scholar All-American. She was a Big Ten Distinguished Scholar and an Academic All-Big Ten choice in 2023 and 2024. She is also a six-time Nebraska Scholar-Athlete Honor Roll selection. A three-time member of the Tom Osborne Citizenship Team, Randby is a member of Nebraska’s Student-Athlete Advisory Committee in 2024-25. Randby chose Nebraska over Minnesota.
