Former Husker diver Hallie Roman joined the Nebraska staff as a graduate assistant in January of 2024, after spending three months as a volunteer assistant.
A four-year letterwinner for the Big Red, Roman qualified for the NCAA Zone D Championships on the one-meter board in 2022 after finishing 14th on the event at the 2022 Big Ten Championships. She also competed in the three-meter and platform dives at the conference meet as a senior.
A tremendous representative of Husker swim and dive in the classroom and the community, Roman earned second-team CSCAA Scholar All-America honors following her senior season. A three-time Academic All-Big Ten selection, she was also a Big Ten Distinguished Scholar in 2021.
An eight-time member of the Nebraska Scholar-Athlete Honor Roll, Roman was the Secretary of the Nebraska Student-Athlete Advisory Committee in 2021. She was also a four-time member of the Tom Osborne Citizenship Team.
Roman came to Nebraska from Port Huron, Mich., where she was not only an outstanding diver but also a three-time individual AAU All-American and six-time team national champion as a member of Kaleidoscope Gymnastics. She was also the valedictorian at Port Huron Northern High School.
Roman earned her bachelor’s degree as a psychology major from Nebraska in August of 2022. Roman served as an assistant ticket manager in the Nebraska Athletic Department for eight months in 2023, before shifting her focus to a coaching role. She also spent time as an intern at Desert Mountain Club in Scottsdale, Ariz., and was a participant in the Disney College Program in Orlando, Fla.
