Austin West joined the Nebraska track and field coaching staff ahead of the 2024-25 season and will serve as the volunteer coach for combined events.
A native of Iowa City, Iowa, West competed in the combined events at Iowa from 2019-2024. The six-time All-American earned first-team honors in heptathlon (2024) and decathlon (2022, 2023) and second-team honors in heptathlon (2021, 2022, 2023), while also claiming the 2023 Big Ten 400m Hurdles title.
A 2024 graduate with a degree in Counselor Education, West holds the Iowa decathlon school record with 8,331 points.
