Callin Hake Season 2024-25

Junior (2024-25)
Callin Hake (pronounced CAL-in HAKE) has been counted on for leadership and stability in Nebraska's backcourt in her third season as a Husker in 2024-25, ranking among the top players in the Big Ten Conference in assist-to-turnover ratio (7th, 1.94).

The 5-8 junior from Victoria, Minn., sank a pair of free throws with 11 seconds left to seal Nebraska's come-from-behind win over Illinois in the second round of the Big Ten Tournament (March 6). She finished with seven points, three rebounds, three assists and two assists in the win over the Illini. She averaged 5.3 points, 3.3 rebounds, 2.7 assists and 1.0 steal in the Big Ten Tournament.

Hake tied career highs with 17 points and seven assists in a win over Oregon (Feb. 19). She hit back-to-back threes in overtime to help the Huskers overcome a 14-point third-quarter deficit. She established her career high with 17 points in a win over North Alabama (Nov. 19), when she hit 5-of-7 shots from the field and all six of her free throws. She added five rebounds, two assists and two steals.

Hake contributed a strong effort with 16 points, a season-high six rebounds, four assists and two steals in a win over Penn State (Jan. 5). She also had 16 points on a career-high five threes in a win over Kansas City (Nov. 26), before adding 12 points, six rebounds, three assists and a career-high four steals in a win over Lindenwood (Dec. 3). Hake put up double figures for the third straight game with 11 points and a trio of three-pointers in Nebraska’s Big Ten-opening win over Minnesota (Dec. 8). 

She owns eight double-digit scoring games this season, including 10 points and four assists in Nebraska's 91-71 upset at No. 17 Maryland (Feb. 13). Hake added 12 points to go with four rebounds and three steals against No. 12 Ohio State (Jan. 26). She had 10 points, five rebounds, three assists and two steals in a win over Chattanooga (Dec. 15).

Hake is averaging career bests of 6.6 points, 3.0 rebounds, 3.1 assists and 1.3 steals, including nine points on 3-of-4 three-point shooting, five assists and three steals in Nebraska's win over Wisconsin (Jan. 20).

She opened 2024-25 with a start in Nebraska’s 88-48 win over Omaha (Nov. 4). She scored four points while matching career highs with four assists and three steals in the win over the Mavericks. She played an outstanding floor game while assuming point guard duties in a win over Southeastern Louisiana (Nov. 9). Hake finished with six points, six rebounds and a career-high seven assists in the win over the Lady Lions. She had three points, three rebounds and four assists in a win over Southern (Nov. 12). Hake came off the bench in the win over South Dakota, dishing out four assists while grabbing three rebounds and a steal.

Sophomore (2023-24)
Hake made greater contributions to Nebraska's lineup in her second season as a Husker. One of the Big Ten's most improved players, Hake averaged 6.1 points, 2.8 rebounds and 1.9 assists, producing more points (+79), rebounds (+60), assists (+49), steals (+15) and blocks (+1) than 2022-23. She also hit 37.7 percent (40-106) of her three-point attempts.

She notched her seventh double-figure scoring performance with 15 points, including 12 in the second half, in Nebraska's 64-56 win over Purdue at the Big Ten Tournament (March 7). Hake averaged 8.3 points and 3.3 rebounds, while hitting 7-of-15 threes (.467) in Nebraska's run to a Big Ten Tournament runner-up finish.

Hake had 11 points and four rebounds at No. 5 Iowa (Jan. 27). She had a season-high 16 points on 4-of-7 three-point shooting in NU's first-ever home win over Maryland (Dec. 31).

Hake scored 14 points and notched seven rebounds and three steals in a win over Alcorn State (Nov. 14). She opened the season with 12 points on perfect 4-for-4 three-point shooting in a win over Northwestern State (Nov. 6). She contributed 11 points and a career-high four assists in a win over Florida Atlantic (Nov. 29), before pitching in 10 points, five boards, a season-high four assists and her first career block in a win over UNCW (Dec. 5). Hake added nine big points on 3-of-5 three-point shooting in a Big Ten-opening win at Michigan State (Dec. 9).

Freshman (2022-23)
Hake was a regular contributor for the Nebraska women's basketball team as a true freshman in 2022-23.

She appeared in 31 of Nebraska's 33 games, while making her first career start in a victory at Purdue (Jan. 18). She scored eight points in place of Maddie Krull in Nebraska's 71-64 win over the Boilermakers. Hake, who averaged 4.3 points and 1.3 rebounds, produced four double-figure scoring efforts in a five-game span early in Big Ten play.

Hake put up a season-high 16 points on 4-of-6 three-point shooting in Nebraska's run past Penn State (Jan. 11). She opened the stretch with 11 points on 3-of-4 three-point shooting against No. 14 Michigan (Dec. 28), before capping the group of double-digit efforts with 11 more points on 3-of-6 three-point shooting against No. 3 Ohio State. She added 10 points on a pair of threes in an overtime setback at No. 4 Indiana (Jan. 1).

In Nebraska's second-round WNIT win over Northern Iowa (March 19), Hake stepped up with six points, three rebounds and two assists off the bench after starter Sam Haiby suffered a lower leg injury that knocked her out for the rest of the game.

Hake scored six points on a pair of threes in wins over Houston Christian (Nov. 11) and Texas A&M-Corpus Christi (Nov. 25). She opened her career with three points, three rebounds, an assist and a steal in a win over Omaha (Nov. 7). She also knocked down a three-pointer at No. 20 Creighton (Nov. 15).

Overall, Hake connected on at least one three-pointer in 20 games, including nine games with multiple threes.

High School
A four-time first-team All-Metro West Conference selection for the Storm, Hake was also a four-time Chanhassen team most valuable player. She captured Metro West Player-of-the-Year honors as a senior in 2021-22 after averaging 22.2 points per game. She became Chanhassen's first career 2,000-point scorer after a 26-point, 12-rebound performance against Cooper on Jan. 31, 2022. That performance followed a then-career-high and Chanhassen-record 37 points in a win over Waconia (Jan. 30). She topped that mark with 38 points in a win over New Prague (Feb. 18). 

A McDonald's All-America Midwest nominee, Hake earned honorable-mention All-Metro accolades from the Minneapolis Star-Tribune as a senior. She was also named to the Metro West Conference All-Defensive Team before capping her high school career by playing in the Minnesota Girls Basketball Coaches Association All-Star Series. She claimed the MGBCA Three-Point Championship by draining 14 three-pointers in 45 seconds.

As a junior in a COVID-shortened 2020-21 season, Hake averaged 21.5 points per game. She averaged 22.2 points per game as a sophomore and 20.4 points per contest as a freshman at Class 4A Chanhassen.

She entered her junior season with high school career totals of 1,633 points, 442 rebounds, 147 steals and 120 assists. She added 599 points as a senior to finish with 2,232 career points.

Hake spent six years competing for the UAA Minnesota Fury, helping the team to a national runner-up finish. She was a first-team Minnesota AAU all-state selection in 2021.

She also earned three letters in track and field at Chanhassen. She was also involved as the DECA President and won the DECA Outstanding Student Award in 2021-22. She was also a two-year National Honor Society member and a four-year Key Club member.

Personal
The daughter of Chad and Jill Hake, Callin was born Feb. 25, 2004 in Waconia, Minn. She has an older brother, Carson, who was a senior infielder for the North Dakota State baseball team in 2024.

Callin is double-majoring in management/marketing. She was a College Sports Communicators Academic All-District VII selection in 2024 and 2025. She also claimed Academic All-Big Ten honors in 2024 and 2025. 

She has earned five spots on the Nebraska Scholar-Athlete Honor Roll and is a two-time member of the Tom Osborne Citizenship Team. She also captured a prestigious Sam Foltz 27 Hero Leadership Award in 2024.

She is the Nebraska Student-Athlete Advisory Committee President in 2024-25.

"I chose Nebraska because of the endless opportunities the University has to offer, the coaching staff and their visions and goals, and the tight bond the girls have on and off the court," Hake said. "Also, getting to play in the best conference and go out and battle every single night is something I have always wanted to do."
