Outlook (2025-26)
Nebraska bolstered its 2025-26 backcourt with an experienced Big Ten guard when Husker women's basketball coach Amy Williams announced the signing of Hailey Weaver on April 14.
Weaver, who spent three seasons on the court at Northwestern from 2021-22 through 2023-24 before sitting out the 2024-25 season, will be a senior for Nebraska in 2025-26.
"We are thrilled that Hailey will be finishing her career at Nebraska," Williams said. "Her versatility on the offensive side of the ball makes her a great fit with our team and our style of play. She has three years of experience guarding in the Big Ten Conference, and we are excited for what she brings to us on that side of the ball as well."
Before Nebraska (Northwestern, 2021-22, 2022-23, 2023-24)
A 6-0 guard from Solon, Ohio, Weaver played in 62 games with 14 starts over her three seasons with the Wildcats. As a junior in 2023-24, Weaver averaged 7.9 points, 3.1 rebounds and 1.4 assists over 28 games with the first 14 starts of her career. An outstanding long-range shooter, Weaver hit 36 percent (32-89) of her three-point attempts while sinking 83.8 percent (31-37) of her free throws. A solid defender, Weaver also totaled 29 steals over 28 games.
Over the first seven games of her junior season, Weaver scored in double figures seven straight times capped by a career-high 20 points against Loyola-Chicago (Nov. 29, 2023). The stretch began with back-to-back 15-point games to open the season, before she notched the only double-double of her career with 12 points and a career-high 13 rebounds against Florida State (Nov. 22, 2023). During the stretch, Weaver went 16-for-30 (.520) from three-point range, including 3-for-5 from long range on her way to 11 points against Notre Dame (Nov. 15, 2023).
In three career games against the Huskers at Pinnacle Bank Arena, Weaver went 5-for-11 from beyond the arc. She scored 11 points on 2-of-5 long-range shooting in a loss to the Huskers in Lincoln (Feb. 20, 2024). In one of the best games of her sophomore season, Weaver pumped in 12 points on 2-of-5 three-pointers to go along with three steals and two assists in a setback to the Big Red at PBA (Feb. 26, 2023). She added a three-pointer in Lincoln on her only shot attempt as a freshman against the Huskers (Feb. 27, 2022).
Weaver has totaled 318 points, 127 rebounds, 57 assists and 66 steals as a collegian, while going 44-of-138 (.338) from three-point range.
