Alex Jardine joined Nebraska Athletics as the women's basketball strength coach in August of 2021. He came to Lincoln after spending four seasons (2017-18 through 2020-21) as an assistant strength coach at Montana State in Bozeman. He served as the strength coach for the women's basketball, track and field/cross country, and nordic ski teams with the Bobcats.
"Alex is an experienced women's basketball strength and conditioning coach who is an expert with movement," Nebraska Coach Amy Williams said. "He also strongly emphasizes injury prevention, so we believe he is going to be a tremendous asset to the development of our players."
He also spent one season as an assistant strength and conditioning coach at the South Dakota School of Mines & Technology in 2016-17. He worked with the basketball, track and field, soccer, golf and cheer teams.
Jardine, who earned his bachelor's degree as an integrated physiology major from the University of Colorado in 2012, claimed his master's degree in exercise science from South Dakota State in 2016. He spent two seasons as a graduate assistant at SDSU (2014-15, 2015-16) and served two seasons as a sports performance intern at Colorado in 2012-13 and 2013-14. He was also a personal trainer at the CU Student Recreation Center during the 2013-14 academic year.
He is certified by the College Strength & Conditioning Coaches Association, the National Strength & Conditioning Association, United States Weightlifting, and by the American Red Cross for CPR/AED.
Alex and his wife, Lisa, have a daughter, Bentley.
