2023-24: Junior
Lucy Loy saw more doubles and singles action during her junior season with the Huskers. She held a respective 15-9 record. In the fall, Loy finished with a 7-6 record and an 8-3 mark in the spring season. She went 1-2 at the No. 5 spot and 7-1 at the No. 6 spot. During her junior season, Loy was paired up with doubles partners Anfisa Danilchenko (0-1) and Maria Taranova (1-0). Throughout the season, Loy also partnered with Jillian Roa for a 3-2 record and Maja Peitrowicz with a 6-2 mark. Her main doubles partner was Isabel Adrover Gallego with 2-2 in the fall season and a 10-6 record at the No. 3 spot. In completed matches, Loy had a six-match win streak with Adrover Gallego and earned many doubles team points for the Huskers.
Off the court, Loy was honored with the Highest Academic Honors, received the Sam Foltz 27 Hero Leadership Award, and was a third-time Tom Osborne Citizenship team member.
2022-23: Sophomore
Loy saw action in both doubles and singles play during her sophomore season at Nebraska. She finished the season with a 9-11 overall singles record, including an 8-2 mark in the spring. She played in two positions, tallying a 6-2 mark at No. 6 and a 2-0 record at No. 5. In doubles play, Loy earned a 10-10 doubles record with her partners, Isabel Adrover Gallego, Ana Carmen Zamburek, Anfisa Danilchenko and Vivien Sandberg.
Off the court, Loy was a member of the 2023 Tom Osborne Citizenship Team.
2021-22: Freshman
Loy saw action in her first-year at Nebraska. The freshman from Fishers, Indiana, finished with an overall singles record of 7-2. In doubles, she went 3-1 on the season and was partnered with Jillian Roa, Chloe Kuckelman, and Vivien Sandberg.
Off the court, Loy was a member of the 2022 Tom Osborne Citizenship Team.
Before Nebraska
Loy joined the Huskers from Fishers, Ind. Previously, Loy played club tennis at Indianapolis Racquet Club for Coach Jamie Dieveney and competed for Fishers High School, under Coach Dave Heffern. A four-time letterwinner, Loy received all-state honorable mention in 2018, second team all-state honors in 2019 and first team all-state honors in 2021. Loy was a regional finalist in 2019 and a state semifinalist in 2021. On the club side, Loy was a Midwest level 2 and 3 doubles winner and a level 3 singles winner. In the classroom, Loy received the scholar athlete award, the national honors society award and dean's list recognition.
Personal
The daughter of Rob and Cheryl Loy, Lucy was born on Dec. 29, 2002. She has two brothers, Will and Matt. She is majoring in accounting and business. She was a Big Ten Distinguished Scholar and an Academic All-Big Ten choice in 2023. She is a three-time Nebraska Scholar-Athlete Honor Roll selection. She is a two-time member of the Tom Osborne Citizenship Team.
