Long-time college administrator Kortne Gosha joined Nebraska Athletics in July of 2024 as the Senior Associate Athletic Director for Capital Planning and Facilities. Gosha previously served as the Deputy Director of Athletics at Tulane University.
At Tulane, Gosha oversaw numerous areas within the department including facilities and maintenance services, capital projects/construction, facilities master planning, event management and guest services, camps/clinics, risk management and information technology. In addition, Gosha served on the executive leadership staff and served as the sports administrator for football, baseball, sailing, cross-country, track and field. Gosha was a principal lead in the Investing in Excellence capital campaign raising over $62 million dollars within the first 6 months of the campaign.
Prior to Gosha's time at Tulane, he served as the Vice President and Director of Athletics at Florida A&M for three years, starting in December of 2019.
Among his more notable accomplishments was laying the groundwork for the school’s landmark decision to move from the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) to the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) in the fall of 2022 along with developing a comprehensive strategic plan “Strike” for the department and raising $13 million in philanthropic support.
In his time with the Rattlers, Gosha was known for his innovative push of marketing and external efforts for Florida A&M including securing first of its kind, a landmark deal with the LeBron James Nike Brand as the official uniform for the athletic department.
Prior to Florida A&M, Gosha spent two years with Miami Athletics as the Associate Athletic Director for Facilities & Operations. He oversaw day-to-day facility and event operations, grounds, custodial, information technology, access control, and capital projects. During his time with the Hurricanes, Gosha assisted in over $50 million in capital improvement projects.
Gosha spent seven years at Middle Tennessee State. He served as the Associate Athletic Director and Chief Operating Officer (2014-18) as well as the Assistant Athletic Director of Equipment Operations (2012-14) during his tenure. Gosha is credited for renegotiating the department’s multi-media rights contract, a new contract with apparel provider Nike, and oversight of $40 million in capital improvement projects while overseeing an annual $36 million operating budget. In 2018, Gosha wrote and implemented the sale of alcohol at athletic venues as the first institution in the state of Tennessee to serve on campus. He oversaw equipment operations, sports medicine, strength and conditioning, contracts, facilities, and all athletic events including post-season competitions. He also assists the Director of Athletics as sports administrator for football and basketball, while serving as the primary sport administrator for baseball, men’s, and women’s track.
Gosha made his way to Murfreesboro from Jacksonville State where he worked three years as an equipment manager. He served as the Gamecocks student manager from 2007 until July of 2011 before being hired full-time in August of 2011 as the coordinator of operations and facilities. In his role, Gosha handled the day-to-day operations, planned team travel, drafted athletic department apparel contracts, served as camp director for summer, coordinated use of athletic facilities, events and coordinated the $47 million Paul Snow Stadium project before leaving his post in 2012.
Gosha earned his degree in political science from Jacksonville State University in 2011 and a masters in sports management from Southern New Hampshire University in 2014. He was also accepted into the 2015 class of Collegiate Athletic Leadership Symposium, graduate of the 2016 Sports Management Institute, 2018 NCAA Dr. Charles Whitcomb Leadership Institute, & 2019 LEAD1.
The Birmingham, Ala. native has memberships to the Athletic Equipment Managers Association, Minorities Opportunities Athletics Association, Collegiate Events & Facilities Management Association and Collegiate Business Management Association.
