Dr. Tomesch is an Emergency Medicine/Sports Medicine trained physician. He completed his medical school and Emergency Medicine training at the University of Iowa. He then pursued a fellowship in Sports Medicine at the University of Arizona-Tucson, after completion of his Emergency Medicine Residency. Following fellowship, he worked for the University of Missouri for several years prior to accepting the position at Nebraska and working with Husker Athletics.
As a member of the Husker Athletics team, Dr. Tomesch serves as the primary care physician for women’s soccer, men’s basketball, and men’s and women’s tennis. Dr. Tomesch additionally helps with other teams as needed.
Dr. Tomesch was also an athlete in college, playing football at Luther College. He has long had a passion for sports and greatly enjoys working with athletes of all sports and supporting them in any way possible.
Dr. Tomesch and his wife reside in Omaha with their two children. Whether it’s a family game night, traveling, or cheering his children on from the sidelines Dr. Tomesch is always up for an adventure.
