Brad Brown moved into his Contest Set-Up Supervisor role after beginning his association with the NU Athletic Department in 1997 as an assisant athletic trainer on the athletic medicine staff.
Brown served as an athletic trainer for the men's and women's track and field programs. He joined the athletic medicine staff full time as the head athletic trainer for the track and field and cross country programs in 1997, and served in that capacity through the 2003-04 season, before taking over as the men's basketball athletic trainer for the start of the 2004-05 campaign. He spent three seasons as the men's basketball athletic trainer, before returning to his role with the track and field program.
Brown joined the Husker staff after serving as the head athletic trainer at Hastings College (1991-97), where he was also an adjunct professor. He was a student athletic trainer at NU (1984-90) and served as the head athletic trainer at Lincoln East High School (1990-91).
Brown received a bachelor’s degree in education from Nebraska in 1990, before receiving a master’s degree in education from Nebraska-Kearney in 1994.
Brown is married to the former Trina Engel of Wood River, Neb., and they have one daughter, Kailee.
