CJ White is in his second season as an assistant strength and conditioning coach at Nebraska in 2024. He is a certified strength and conditioning specialist.
White came to Nebraska after spending the 2022 season as an assistant strength and conditioning coach at TCU. His work helped the Horned Frogs play in the College Football Playoff National Championship Game one year after a 5-7 campaign.
Previously, White was the director of strength and conditioning at Jackson State, where he oversaw the strength and conditioning efforts for all 16 Tiger teams. With the football program under Head Coach Deion Sanders, White helped the Tigers to a Southwestern Athletic Conference title in 2021. JSU also played in the Celebration Bowl (HBCU National Championship) for the first time in program history in 2021.
Prior to Jackson State, White was an assistant performance coach at Arkansas State for two years. He assisted the football program in all aspects of weight training, conditioning and nutrition in addition to overseeing the implementation of the training program for incoming freshmen and transfers. White also served as the liaison between the athletic medicine staff, student-athletes, coaches and administration. In addition to his work with the football program, White worked with the track and field, women’s golf and cheer programs.
White began his career as an assistant performance coach at SMU. With the Mustangs, he assisted with all aspects of weight training and speed development for the football team in addition to implementing the training program for incoming freshmen and transfers. White also worked with men’s and women’s swimming, rowing, men’s and women’s soccer, volleyball and women’s track and field at SMU.
White earned his bachelor’s degree in exercise physiology from the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor in 2018, where he was a defensive end and linebacker for the football team. He earned his master’s degree in sport administration from Arkansas State in 2020.
