Cody Brousek

Cody Brousek joined the Nebraska Athletic Department in January 2022 and serves as the director of operations for the Huskers’ cross country and track and field programs.

In his role at Nebraska, Brousek oversees the day-to-day operations of the programs, including team travel, home meet management, scheduling, budgeting and other administrative and logistical responsibilities. He also plays a significant role in the planning and execution of Nebraska’s home competitions and championship events.

Brousek helped oversee the return of outdoor track and field competition to Nebraska with the opening of the Nebraska Outdoor Track & Field Facility in the spring of 2026, marking the Huskers’ first outdoor home competitions since 2019. During the facility’s inaugural season, Nebraska hosted the 2026 Big Ten Outdoor Track & Field Championships, where Brousek served as Competition Director.

In addition to his responsibilities at Nebraska, Brousek is actively involved in the governance of collegiate track and field and cross country. He serves on the NCAA Division I Men’s and Women’s Track and Field and Cross Country Oversight Committee as well as the NCAA Men’s and Women’s Track and Field and Cross Country Rules Committee. Brousek served as the Indoor Championships Subcommittee Chair for the 2025 NCAA Division I Indoor Track and Field Championships and as the Outdoor Championships Subcommittee Chair for the 2026 NCAA Division I Outdoor Track and Field Championships.

Brousek has also served the sport internationally. In 2026, he was the director of operations for Team USA at the FISU America Games in Lima, Peru.

Prior to returning to Nebraska, Brousek spent five years as the director of operations for the Notre Dame cross country and track and field programs from 2017 to 2022. With the Fighting Irish, he oversaw team travel, home meet management, budgeting, alumni relations and the day-to-day operations of the programs. During his time at Notre Dame, Brousek served as Championship Director for both the ACC Indoor Track & Field Championships and the 2021 ACC Cross Country Championships.

Brousek began his full-time collegiate athletics career at Wichita State, serving as the Shockers’ director of operations during the 2016-17 season. He oversaw eight annual home competitions, served on the board of the Shocker Track & Field Club and served as Competition Director for the 2017 Missouri Valley Conference Outdoor Track & Field Championships.

Before Wichita State, Brousek served in a volunteer role with the Nebraska track and field program, assisting the director of operations while teaching junior high social studies at North American Martyrs School in Lincoln.

From 2013 to 2022, Brousek was also a member of Eagle Eye Digital Video, gaining extensive experience at some of the nation’s premier track and field competitions. His work included multiple U.S. Olympic Team Trials, USA Track & Field Championships and NCAA Indoor and Outdoor Track & Field Championships.

A native of Wahoo, Neb., Brousek attended Dana College and Nebraska Wesleyan University, competing in cross country and track and field. He earned his bachelor’s degree in elementary education and special education from Nebraska Wesleyan in 2013. Brousek is pursuing a master’s degree in sport management from the University of Nebraska at Kearney and is scheduled to graduate in December 2026.

Brousek resides in Lincoln with his wife, Katie, and their Golden Retriever, Remi Rose.
