David Berger joined Nebraska Athletics in July 2024 as an assistant turf manager. Berger is responsible for the turf maintenance at the tennis and soccer facilities and supervises interns.
Berger joined the Huskers after spending three years as a student worker with Michigan State athletic grounds. He helped maintain the field at Spartan Stadium, the practice football facility, and the varsity soccer, softball and baseball fields by mowing, divot repair, skins work and repair, tarping, preparing the practice soccer field, and football fields for practice, preparing the game soccer and football fields, painting the soccer fields, and grooming the artificial turf practice football fields.
Berger also worked with the Philadelphia Union as an intern from April-August (2023) where he helped maintain the field at Subaru Park and the training facility.
Berger graduated from Michigan State in April of 2024 with a bachelor's degree in Crop and Soil Science with a concentration in turfgrass management.
David, a native of Michigan, is the son of Paul and Lisa, and has a twin sister, Gabby.
