Dr. Jason Meredith joined Nebraska Athletics in 2023 and serves at the team physician for Nebraska’s wrestling, rifle, and bowling teams.
Dr. Meredith was born and raised in Memphis, Tennessee. He completed his undergraduate studies at Missouri State University in Springfield, Missouri and earned his medical degree from the University of Tennessee Health Science Center College of Medicine in Memphis, Tennessee.
Dr. Meredith then completed his family medicine residency training while on active duty in the United States Air Force at the combined Offutt Air Force Base/University of Nebraska Medical Center program. Following his residency training, he completed his Primary Care Sports Medicine Fellowship at Allegheny Health Network-St. Vincent Hospital in Erie, Pennsylvania. After fellowship, he returned to Nebraska and served as the Chief of Sports Medicine at Offutt Air Force Base. After 11 years of service in the United States Air Force, Dr. Meredith separated from the military and stayed in Nebraska to join the faculty at UNMC where he subsequently founded their Primary Care Sports Medicine Fellowship program. Dr. Meredith currently serves as the fellowship program director, associate professor, and Vice Chair in the Department of Family Medicine at UNMC.
Dr. Meredith is married and has a daughter. In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his family, road biking, and watching college wrestling, football, baseball, and historical documentaries.
