Jean Tanelus joined Nebraska Athletics as the administrative assistant for Capital Planning and Facilities in December 2024.
Before arriving in Lincoln, Tanelus served as the assistant director of business operations at Northwestern University. He oversaw the processing of purchase order requests, vendor and contracted services payments, reimbursements, cash advances, and other accounting transactions.
Prior to his time at Northwestern, Tanelus was a facilities and events intern. As an intern, Jean oversaw venue preparations, including signage, parking, and facility safety, and served as the liaison for team officials. After graduation, he served as the assistant director of facilities and events. He oversaw daily operations across the athletic facilities on campus, including scheduling practices for sports such as volleyball and basketball, as well as coordinating activities and events for the department. Jean later transitioned into the business office as the assistant director of business operations. He was instrumental in managing and coordinating multiple food and clothing vendors for athletics events (football, basketball, volleyball, and more), ensuring they had the appropriate paperwork, payments were documented, and vendor locations were secured.
A native of Miami, Florida, Jean earned his bachelor’s degree in business administration from Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University (FAMU).
