Jessica L. Calvi, Ph.D., is a Research Assistant Professor in the Salivary Bioscience Laboratory within the Nebraska Athletic Performance Laboratory. Calvi earned her bachelor’s degrees in psychology and development and family studies at the University of North Texas (2009). She earned her master’s degree (2011) and Ph.D. (2014) in lifespan developmental psychology from Oklahoma State University.
Calvi’s research interests include empathy, interpersonal relationships, and social behaviors in the developmental context, with an emphasis on physiological responses to social stressors, including social evaluation and group dynamics. Her specialty is in salivary biomarkers, including cortisol, testosterone, and alpha-amylase.
