Kristin Coggin is in her second season at Nebraska in 2024, serving as the assistant athletic director for performance nutrition. A registered dietitian, Coggin directs all efforts related to performance nutrition for the football program and the entire athletic department.
Coggin was elevated to lead the nutrition program for all Husker student-athletes after spending her first season at Nebraska as the director of football nutrition. As part of her duties, Coggin has oversight of Nebraska's legendary Training Table, which provides carefully planned meal options for breakfast, lunch and dinner for all Husker student-athletes.
Coggin joined the Cornhuskers after spending six seasons as the director of football nutrition/director of performance nutrition at South Carolina. With the Gamecocks, she was responsible for managing all aspects of performance nutrition for the football team. That included coordinating all team meals throughout the year, counseling athletes and analyzing individual athlete body compositions and hydration needs. Coggin served as a resource for the coaching and training staffs, providing updates on nutrition concerns, priorities and accomplishments for each individual player.
Prior to South Carolina, Coggin spent two years as a registered dietitian/performance nutrition coordinator at Alabama. In her role she worked closely with the football, men’s basketball and softball teams along with other sports. The Crimson Tide football team reached the College Football Playoff National Championship Game in each of her two seasons on staff.
Coggin began her career with a dietetic internship at Cal Poly-Pomona. She earned a degree in psychology from Tennessee in 2012 and a degree in nutrition in 2014. She was a member of the rowing team at Tennessee, where she was a two-time conference champion and competed for an NCAA Championship.
