Matt Davidson joined the Nebraska Athletic Department staff as director of events in 2009 and was promoted to associate athletic director for event management and operations in July of 2019 and to senior associate athletic director in October of 2024.
In his role, Davidson supervises the event management specialists and oversees the scheduling, assignments and supervision of the event staff while directly overseeing game management operations. He also supervises the guest relations/security staff at both Memorial Stadium and the Bob Devaney Sports Center. Davidson coordinates and participates in facility preparation, while assisting in the management and coordination of all special events in athletic department facilities.
Davidson came to Nebraska from Kansas State, where he worked in event management for the athletic department from 2001 to 2009. In 2006, he was elevated to full-time status as the event manager for all 16 varsity sports, overseeing the event staff and game-day operations.
Davidson, who coordinates schedules for both visiting teams and television production crews, earned a bachelor's degree in management from Kansas State in 2004, before earning his master's degree in athletic administration from KSU in 2006. He began his collegiate career at Fort Hays State where he spent one year as a member of the varsity golf team.
Matt and his wife, Terra, have a daughter, Kinsley, and sons, Connor and Bode.
