Mi-ah Watkins enters her first year with the University of Nebraska after assuming the role as an Assistant Sports Scientist in July 2024, where she will use the integration of sport technologies, training strategies and RTP processes to promote athlete development and health with the goal of optimizing performance.
Previously, Watkins was at the University of Connecticut as an Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach - Analytics with football where she oversaw sports science data collection, analysis and integration of year long periodization. In 2021, she was a Sports Science Intern with the University of Maryland Football team. In 2021, she was a Strength and Conditioning Intern at the College of William and Mary in Williamsburg, VA.
Watkins coached high school track and field at Deep Run High School in Glen Allen, VA (2019-2021) and Division II track and field at the University of the District of Columbia (2021-2023).
Watkins earned her Bachelor’s of Science in Human Performance with a concentration in Sports Medicine in 2019 from Howard University, where she also was a member of the Track and Field team. She later earned her Master’s of Science in Exercise Science with a concentration in Strength and Conditioning from George Washington University in 2022.
