Steve Torske served the Nebraska Athletic Department since 1995 and spent over 30 years working for the Huskers before retiring in 2025. A native of Kenesaw, Neb., Torske has been a member of the grounds crew for the Lincoln Saltdogs, Lincoln Public Schools and worked on the park and recreation fields crew.
Torske served as grounds crew supervisor for the athletic department, managing all of the grass fields and the FieldTurf at Memorial Stadium. He also assisted with event setup at all of Nebraska's athletic facilities, including the Bob Devaney Sports Center, the Nebraska Soccer Stadium and Ed Weir Track and Field, and the NU Coliseum.
Torske graduated from Nebraska in 1982 with a bachelor’s degree in agriculture. He and his wife, Melody, have two daughters, Ashley and Kayla.
