Tyler Weeda joined the Athletic Department as an Assistant Athletic Trainer in 2013, after previously serving as an graduate assistant at Nebraska from 2011 until 2013. He was promoted to Associate Athletic Trainer in 2023. Weeda works directly with Nebraska's wrestling team.
Weeda came to Nebraska from Coe College, where he graduated in 2011 with his degree in athletic training and strength and conditioning. He worked with the Kohawk's football, wrestling, swimming and diving, indoor track, men's tennis, women's tennis, men's soccer and women's soccer teams.
Weeda has volunteered at the Division III National Wrestling Tournament and the Iowa State Dual Wrestling Championships. He has also volunteered at the Nebraska Wrestling Training Center and has worked at the 2012 Olympic Trials, 2013 World Trials, the 2014 U.S. Open and World Trials, the 2015 World Team Trials and the 2015 World Championships.
Weeda is originally from Belle Plaine, Iowa.
