Vince Guinta is in his third season as Nebraska's senior director of player personnel and recruiting in 2024. Guinta has previous experience with Nebraska, serving on the Husker recruiting staff from 2004 to 2008.
Guinta owns more than 20 years of involvement in major college football with a history of national recruiting success. Guinta has experience across the country, working at schools in the Big Ten, Big 12, Pac-12 and Mountain West Conferences.
Guinta came to Nebraska from Baylor where he spent two seasons as associate athletics director for player personnel. In his role with the Bears, Guinta oversaw all aspects of the recruiting process, including prospect identification, evaluations, marketing and social media, and campus visitations. During the 2021 season, Baylor posted a 12-2 record, won the Big 12 Championship and posted a victory in the Sugar Bowl.
Before his time in Waco, Guinta spent five years at Oregon State in multiple roles including as assistant athletic director for player personnel. Prior to Oregon State he spent the 2013 and 2014 seasons as director of football recruiting at Wisconsin.
Following four years in private business, Guinta joined the staff at Fresno State, where he served as the coordinator of football operations in 2012. With the Bulldogs, Guinta was responsible for coordinating team schedules, travel and logistics while also monitoring the program's operating budget, coordinating the walk-on program and supervising recruiting activities.
Guinta’s first tenure at Nebraska came from 2004 to 2008. He began as the Huskers' football operations intern and was promoted to director of football personnel and recruiting after the 2005 season. He also served as assistant director of football operations. In 2005, the Tom Lemming Report rated Nebraska as the No. 1 recruiting class in the nation, and during Guinta’s tenure, Nebraska finished in the top 25 in recruiting four times.
Guinta served in various roles for the Utah football program from 1997 to 2003. Guinta is a native of Salt Lake City, Utah and holds a bachelor's degree in political science from the University of Utah. Guinta and his wife Emily have two sons, Maxwell and Franklin.
