William Caine joined Nebraska Athletics as an academics graduate assistant in January of 2021. He transitioned to the role of assistant academic counselor in July of 2021, and currently serves the Huskers as an academic specialist.
In his current role, Caine works alongside both learning specialists and academic counselors, taking on the roles of advising and mentorship of student-athletes, teaching academic skill building and best practices, managing daily operations of the tutor program and assisting with other duties as assigned by the department.
Caine is a native of Denver, Colo., and graduated from the University of Colorado-Colorado Springs with a Bachelor of Arts in sports management in 2019. During his undergraduate studies, he worked with a variety of different sport entities including the Olympic and Paralympic Committee, National Wheelchair Basketball Association and the United State Anti-Doping Agency.
Caine is set to earn his Master of Arts in Business with a specialization in Intercollegiate Athletics Administration (MAIAA) from Nebraska’s College of Business in December of 2021. Caine resides in Lincoln with his wife, Tanner.
