Women's Golf Courses
The Nebraska Golf programs practice and compete at the top courses in the Midwest. Not only are there a wide variety of courses in Lincoln, but the Huskers also have access to the world class golf courses around the region and state. This along with state of the art off-season facilities including unlimited access to the new Trackman Training Facility and Putting Facility in the Hawks Championship Center on campus, the Hawks Indoor wedge facility, and the Nebraska Performance Lab all combine to create an off-season Husker advantage.
Firethorn Golf Course
Firethorn is a private membership, Pete Dye designed golf club. As one of two home golf courses to the Huskers, Firethorn plays host to the Husker men's annual 12-team collegiate invitational, the “Git R Done Husker Invitational.” The golf course is a challenge at any length featuring risk/reward golf at its finest, small driving zones, flourishing shrubs and prairie grasses and signature Pete Dye water par 3’s. Firethorn has played host to many elite level events in the past including the NCAA Division III Men’s Golf Championship, the USGA Women’s Amateur Championship and has been rated as high as 36th among the top 100 Modern Courses in the country. Excellent range facilities and an indoor-to-outdoor hitting facility make Firethorn one of the top private clubs in the state.
Hillcrest Country Club
One of the most tradition-rich courses in Lincoln, Hillcrest Country Club features large, established trees, which help create an outside-the-city feel. The 18-hole course boasts a nearly 600-yard par 5, a challenging pair of short par 3 holes and practice facilities that include a 500-yard driving range, along with beautifully manicured putting and chipping greens. In 1929, U.S. Open champion Walter Hagen and French Open Champion Horton Smith were among the first golfers to compete on the course designed by William A. Tucker Sr. In its competitive lore, Hillcrest was the site of a match between legends Arnold Palmer and Gary Player.
ArborLinks Golf Club
Newly acquired by the Dormie Network, ArborLinks offers one of the finest destination golf experiences in the Midwest. The foundation of ArborLinks is its highly rated Arnold Palmer Signature Design, high-end practice facilities including an exclusive wedge range, two putting and chipping greens and driving range featuring Titleist ProV range balls. The newly built and renovated clubhouse and pristine conditioning of the golf course make this links-style golf course surrounded in ample fescue grasses and bunkering, a truly championship experience for the Huskers.
Country Club of Lincoln
The Country Club of Lincoln is nestled inside the heart of the city, just five minutes away from campus and protected on all sides by large trees, full lush rough and lightning quick bent grass greens to create the ultimate private club experience in Lincoln. With an unmatched history of growth, revival and success, the CCL just recently played host to the 2019 Nebraska State Amateur and provides another great option for practice and play as a Husker golfer.
Highlands Golf Course
Highlands Golf Course is the premier 18-hole, championship, public/city golf course in Lincoln. Designed and built in 1993 by Jeff Brauer, the course features beautiful lakes and rolling terrain in a links style (prairie) golf course. The course stretches out to over 7,100 yards from the gold markers and is designed to offer a fair but challenging test for all playing abilities. Husker players enjoy a full range membership here as the course is close to student housing and just three miles from campus. Another great option for competition and practice, Highlands is a great option and continues to grow into a tougher challenge each year.
Indian Creek Golf Club
Home of the Indian Creek Invitational, arguably Nebraska’s finest annual amateur golf tournament and the Korn Ferry Tour’s - Pinnacle Bank Championship, Indian Creek is building a reputation as the best competition course on the Korn Ferry Tour. Omaha’s Premier 27-Hole public golf complex thrills golfers with 37 acres of fairway, 80 well-placed bunkers and 15 holes with the threat of water. Include a tour level driving range and new indoor-to-outdoor hitting bays, Indian Creek is an incredible option for Husker golfers.
Trackman Training Lab - On Campus
The Trackman Training Lab is located in the Hawks Championships Center next to Memorial Stadium, athletic training table and Hendricks Student-Athlete Academic Center. Two full simulation units and hitting bays, utilizing Trackman technology allows Husker golfers to work on their swing anytime, day or night, in-season or out. Each player has full access with a key card to the Lab, 6 am – 11 pm. The facility also includes a Perfect Platform putting system with adjustable putting platform to move and emulate all breaks and putting speeds. A team locke rroom is also located on site, adjacent to the Husker Indoor Wedge range. Trackman technology is utilized by the leading coaches and teachers in the game. Team members utilize the facility for practice, swing recording, data analysis, club fitting and anything else that is emerging in the field of golf data and practice. Only men’s and women’s golf team members have access and the ability to practice any day, any time - making it a real advantage for all Husker golfers.
