Hawks Field at Haymarket Park

The Nebraska baseball team trains and competes at some of the top facilities in the country. Hawks Field at Haymarket Park is regularly ranked at a top-10 college baseball venue in the country and the team also utilizes the 18,000 square foot Alex Gordon Training Complex.

Hawks Field at Haymarket Park is widely recognized as one of the top college ballparks in the nation. Hawks Field features 4,419 chair-back seats with an up-close view of the action. Berm seating along both lines and throughout the outfield can handle more than 4,000 fans, providing another affordable family-friendly option. Hawks Field also features 16 suites, a club level lounge and a spacious, two-level press box with four radio and television booths. The playing surface of Kentucky Bluegrass is the only college field in the country to be a two-time Field of the Year by the Sports Turf Managers Association, winning the honor in both 2004 and 2007.

The $29.53 million complex includes medical and laundry facilities, coaches' offices and team lockers and a team lounge, all located in the baseball office building overlooking left field.

The Huskers have enjoyed playing at Hawks Field since its opening in 2002. The Huskers enter the 2021 season with a 370-140-1 (.725) home record over the past 19 seasons. The largest crowd in school history occurred on April 14, 2006 when Nebraska defeated Texas A&M in front of 8,757 fans. During the 2016 season Nebraska set a school-record with 5,423 fans per game at Hawks Field. NU has ranked in the top 25 nationally in average attendance every season since 2002.

Alex Gordon Training Complex

The Alex Gordon Training Complex was completed in the fall of 2011 at a cost of $4.75 million. The facility was specifically designed for baseball and softball and has 18,000 square feet of climate-controlled practice space that allows for working on all phases of the game. The space can be configured to utilize as many as six spacious batting cages.

The cages can also be retracted to open up all of the 120-foot by 150-foot space for live game simulation. The entire facility is netted, allowing for the Huskers to take live batting practice. The field turf surface looks and feels like real grass, and the field includes anchors to lock down bases for use during practices

It was renamed the Alex Gordon Training Complex following a $1 million donation from the Alex Gordon Family.

Clubhouse

Nebraska's 1,400-square foot locker room is one of the largest in college baseball and features 36 wooden lockers, including three double-sized lockers for the Husker catchers. An extensive renovation was completed on the locker room in 2010.

The renovation included a new entryway, remodeled player lockers, new locker chairs, electronic reclining theater seating, a team dining area, two 25-inch touch-screen monitors, a new video messaging system and a gaming area.
