Arden Louchheim Season 2024-25

Sophomore (2024-25)
Arden Louchheim (pronounced LOCK-hime) is one of Nebraska’s most experienced returning golfers in 2024-25. The sophomore from Park City, Utah, competed in 30 rounds and produced a 75.73 stroke average as a true freshman for the Huskers in 2023-24.

She got her second season off to a solid start as Nebraska's top qualifier and No. 2 finisher at the Badger Invitational (Sept. 8-10). Louchheim put together a 54-hole score of 229 (+13), including a final-round 73 (+1), to tie for 35th in a 75-player field on the 6,306-yard layout at the University Ridge Golf Club in Verona, Wis.

Louchheim was Nebraska's No. 4 finisher at the Red Raider Invitational (Sept. 24-25). She managed a 234 (+18) on the longest course a Nebraska women's golf team has ever faced with a 6,894-yard, par-72 layout at The Rawls Course in Lubbock, Texas. She matched her season best with a second-round 73 (+1), while tying for 71st overall.

She closed the fall season with a tie for 41st in a 63-player field at the Hurricane Invitational in Coral Gables, Fla. (Oct. 28-29). Competing as an individual outside the Husker lineup, Louchheim fired a season-best 72 in the opening round on the par-72, 6,175-yard layout of the Biltmore Golf Club, before adding rounds of 78 and 77 to close with a season-best 227.

Louchheim ranked fourth among the Huskers with a 76.67 stroke average over nine rounds during the fall of 2024.

Louchheim enjoyed a strong summer of 2024 that included a runner-up finish at the Nebraska Women’s Amateur.

Freshman (2023-24)
Louchheim kicked off her college career by earning a lineup spot at the season-opening Sam Golden Invitational (Sept. 11-12). She was Nebraska’s No. 4 individual finisher with a three-round total of 218 (+2) on the par-72, 6,413-yard layout at the Oakmont Country Club in Corinth, Texas. She began the tournament with a career-best 70 (-2), before adding rounds of 73 and 75 to help Nebraska to a tie for fifth in a 12-team field that included seven 2023 NCAA Regional-qualifying teams.

She added a tie for 65th in a strong 84-player field at the Mary Fossum Invitational (Sept. 17-18). Louchheim counted her first round (73) and third round (74) for Nebraska to help the Huskers tie for sixth in a 15-team field that featured nine 2023 NCAA Regional-qualifying teams. She finished with a three-round score of 233 on the par-72, 6,370-yard layout at Forest Akers West Golf Course in East Lansing, Mich.

Louchheim was back in the Nebraska lineup at the Dale McNamara Invitational (Oct. 9-10), tying for 60th with a 228 (81-76-71). Her final-round 71 (-1) on the par-72, 6,246-yard layout of the Golf Club of Oklahoma in Broken Arrow was her second round better than par of the season and counted toward Nebraska’s team score. She helped the Huskers to a fifth-place finish in a 14-team field that featured 10 top-100 teams.

She closed the fall with her fourth consecutive lineup appearance, tying for 64th with a 224 (+8) in an NCAA-caliber 96-player field at the Landfall Tradition in Wilmington, N.C. (Oct. 27-29). Louchheim produced steady rounds of 75, 73 and 76 on the 6,194-yard layout at the Country Club of Landfall.

Louchheim capped her first fall season at Nebraska with a 75.25 stroke average over 12 rounds, before opening the spring in the Husker lineup at the UCF Challenge (Feb. 3-5). She finished with a three-round total of 228 (+12) in a tie for 80th in a strong 96-player field at the Eagle Creek Golf Club in Orlando.

She produced her best performance of the season with a career-best three-round total of 214 (-4) at the Westbrook Spring Invitational (Feb. 25-26) in Peoria, Ariz. Louchheim fired rounds of 70-73-71 to tie for 40th on the par-72, 6,248-yard layout at the Westbrook Village Golf Club. She added a 231 (78-75-78) to tie for 80th at the Briar’s Creek Invitational in Johns Island, S.C. (March 11-12), before taking 65th with a 232 (76-79-77) at the Florida State Match Up in Tallahassee (March 15-16).

Louchheim produced a career-best tie for 29th on a challenging par-72, 6,319-yard layout at the Scarlet Course in Columbus, Ohio at the Therese Hession Buckeye Invitational (April 13-14). She tied for Nebraska’s second-best individual finish in Ohio, matching teammates Miu Takahashi and Michaela Vavrova with a 228 (+12), just one shot back of Lindsey Thiele’s 227.

Louchheim capped her freshman season by tying for 72nd with a 236 (+20) at the Big Ten Championship (April 19-21). She opened her first conference championship with a 75 at the Bulle Rock Golf Course in Havre de Grace, Md., to provide Nebraska with its No. 2 individual score, before closing with rounds of 81 and 80.

Louchheim ended the year with a 75.73 stroke average through 30 rounds on the season, including four rounds better than par. Her 30 rounds were the second most by a Husker, trailing only Miu Takahashi’s 32.

Before Nebraska
A four-time IMG Junior World Championship participant, Louchheim was a two-time Girls Junior Americas Cup team member. She was also an AJGA Rolex Scholastic All-American.

Louchheim won the 18th hole for a 1 up match play victory to claim the title at the 40th Utah Junior Amateur event in June of 2023 at Park City Golf Club. The three-time Utah Class 2A high school state champion added an individual state runner-up finish to her list of honors in the spring of 2023, while helping Rowland Hall to a second-place team finish during the spring.

In addition to her success on the course and in the classroom, Louchheim was also a two-time high school letterwinner in alpine ski racing and was a competitive skier for 11 years, qualifying for U.S. Nationals in 2020.

Personal

The daughter of David Louchheim and Akemi Louchheim, Arden was born Feb. 11, 2005 in Seattle, Wash. She has an older brother, Carter. Arden’s father is the radio play-by-play voice of the Utah Jazz. The color analyst for the Jazz is Ron Boone, father of former Husker men’s basketball player Jaron Boone. A sports media and communication major, Arden was a WGCA Scholastic All-American in 2024. She also earned spots on the Nebraska Scholar-Athlete Honor Roll with perfect 4.0 grade-point averages in the fall and spring semesters of 2023-24. She was a member of the 2024 Tom Osborne Citizenship Team.

She chose NU over Indiana, Kansas State and Boise State.
