Redshirt Junior (2024-25)
A multi-sport athlete in high school, Brooke Bream was a high school and club soccer player and a middle distance runner as a track athlete in Arizona. She began to focus on golf at the Arizona Country Club when the COVID-19 pandemic forced the cancellation of her junior track and field season and club soccer competitions.

Bream, who did not play high school golf, was a 2021 Junior Golf Association of Arizona PIayer of the Year finalist after winning three tournament titles and adding a pair of runner-up finishes.

An outstanding student, Bream is a two-time Academic All-Big Ten selection who earned her bachelor’s degree as an economics major in just three years from Nebraska. She is pursuing a master’s degree in strategic innovation and entrepreneurship.

Redshirt Sophomore (2023-24)
Bream posted a 79.33 stroke average over three rounds in her third season as a Husker. She traveled with the Huskers to the Briar’s Creek Invitational in Johns Island, S.C. (March 11-12). Competing as an individual, Bream produced a 238 (85-76-77) that included a career-best four-over-par 76 in the second round. She tied for 95th individually.

Redshirt Freshman (2022-23)
Bream made her collegiate golf debut at the Big O Classic at Oak Hills Country Club in Omaha (Oct. 3-4). Playing as an individual, Bream finished 57th in her first outing as a Husker with a score of 259. That included a best round of 79 in the second round. Bream finished with an 86.33 stroke average.

Bream performed at a high level off the course, claiming Academic All-Big Ten honors while capturing spots on the Nebraska Scholar-Athlete Honor Roll in the fall and spring semesters of 2022-23. She was also a member of the Tom Osborne Citizenship Team.

Redshirt (2021-22)
Bream redshirted in her first season as a walk-on at Nebraska in 2021-22. She earned two spots on the Nebraska Scholar-Athlete Honor Roll and was a member of the Tom Osborne Citizenship Team.

Before Nebraska
Bream began her competitive golf career on the Junior Golf Association of Arizona Tour in March of 2020, tying for 18th at the Desert Mashie Championship at Cave Creek. She added a tie for 16th at the Tucson Conquistadores Spring Classic at the El Rio Golf Course (April 24-25) before finishing eighth at Tucson City (June 2-3) with a 161 (78-83).  Her scores continued to fall the next week by tying for fifth at the Antigua Milt Coggins Arizona Junior Stroke Play (June 8-9), finishing at 155 (75-80).

Her performance set up her win at the Thunderbird Junior Classic (June 21-22), and she added a tie for second at the Mesa City Junior/Junior World Qualifier (June 30-31).

She added another runner-up finish with a 147 (75-72) over two rounds at the Prescott City Junior Championship (July 7-8), before winning the PING Invitational (July 19-20) at Grand Canyon University Golf Course with a 155 (75-80).

Bream added another victory at the Phoenix City Junior Championship (July 22-23) with a single round of 75. She managed a fourth-place showing at the Maricopa Junior Championship (Aug. 2-3), her seventh consecutive top-five tournament finish.

Personal
The daughter of Scott and Shelly Bream, Brooke was born March 3, 2003. Brooke has a younger sister, Mackenzie, who is a redshirt freshman on the Husker women’s golf team in 2024-25. Brooke’s mother is a University of Nebraska graduate. Brooke’s father is the vice president for player personnel for the Detroit Tigers. A three-sport athlete at Millard South High School, Scott Bream advanced to the Triple A level after playing in the San Diego Padres (1989-1995), Chicago Cubs (1995) and Detroit Tiger organizations (1996-98) after being drafted in the second round by San Diego in the 1989 MLB Draft. He continued in the Tigers organization as an advance scout in 1999, and has spent all but two (2011-12, Padres) of the last 24 seasons in the Tigers organization.

An economics major, Brooke earned her bachelor’s degree in just three years from Nebraska, claiming her diploma in August of 2024. A two-time Academic All-Big Ten choice and  a six-time Nebraska Scholar-Athlete Honor Roll member, Bream is pursuing a master’s degree in strategic innovation and entrepreneurship.

Bream is also a three-time member of the Tom Osborne Citizenship Team. She and Mackenzie are the women’s golf team’s representatives on the Nebraska Student-Athlete Advisory Committee in 2024-25.
