Senior (2005-06)
After Jackie Beste (pronounced BEST-ee) closed one of the most decorated academic careers in Husker golf history as Nebraska's first four-time first-team NGCA Scholastic All-American. Beste went on to earn her bachelor's degree in accounting from NU following a career in which she played 97 competitive rounds and posted an 80.22 career stroke average.

A three-time academic All-Big 12 performer, Beste posted an 80.23 stroke average as a senior that included her only career tournament title at the 2005 Chip-N Club Invitational. She sizzled for a career-best 72 in the second round, sandwiched between strong rounds of 74 to close with a career-best tournament total of 220. She added a second top-10 finish as a senior with a 10th-place showing (241) at the Baja Invitational.

Junior (2004-05)
After earning a spot in the Nebraska lineup as a sophomore, Beste continued to contribute as a junior, posting an 80.86 stroke average over 21 rounds.

Beste opened the season strong in a tie for 12th at the Chip-N Club Invitational in Lincoln on Sept. 19-20. Her final score of 244 (86-76-82) helped the Huskers earn a first-place finish at the tournament.

At the Mountain View Collegiate March 26-27 in Tucson, Ariz., Beste tied her single-round season-low score of 74 in both the second and third rounds, finishing in a tie for 37th with a score of 226. Her final score was the lowest of the season and matched her season-low score from the 2003 Mountain View Collegiate.

Beste helped the Huskers to a seventh-place finish at the Big 12 Championships in Lubbock, Texas, April 22-24, by shooting a 241 (77-83-81), to tie for 38th place.

Sophomore (2003-04)
One of Nebraska's most improved players, Beste finished third on the team with a 78.22 stroke average, cutting 4.17 strokes off her 2002-03 average (82.39). She produced four top-15 finishes, including a career-best fifth-place showing at the Chip-N Club Invitational. She tied for 12th at the Highlands Ranch Intercollegiate and tied for 13th at the Embassy Suites/Tyson Invitational. She closed the season by tying for 14th at the Big 12 Championships to lead NU's individuals.

Beste added a season-best second-round 73 on her way to a season-best 226 (78-73-75) at the Mountain View Collegiate, where she tied for 21st.

Freshman (2002-03)
Beste split time at the No. 5 spot and finished with an 82.39 stroke average over 23 rounds. At the Big 12 Championships, she helped NU to a fifth-place team finish with her 41st-place showing.

Beste played in four tournaments during the fall season, cracking the starting lineup three times. She compiled an 83.58 stroke average. Her top effort came at the Chip-N Club Invitational, when she tied for 22nd, including a season-best second-round 74.

High School/Amateur
Beste was a four-time top-10 finisher at the Minnesota State Championship, including a state title in 2001. Ranked No. 1 in the state in 2002, Beste earned all-conference and team MVP honors five times in her career. Sauk Centre's Female Athlete of the Year as a senior, Beste added all-conference honors as a setter on the volleyball team and as a point guard on the basketball squad. She owns school records for most steals in a game, season and career on the basketball court. As an amateur golfer, Beste captured the Minnesota State Junior Girls Championship in the summer of 2002. In 1999, she took home a Minnesota Maxfli title.

Personal
The daughter of Loren and Laurie Beste, Jackie has two older brothers, Pat and Jim. She was born on May 17, 1984. Beste was the first four-time NGCA Scholastic All-American in Husker history and was a three-time academic All-Big 12 selection before graduating with a bachelor's degree in accounting from NU.
