Senior (2020-21)
Noor Ahmed made her only appearance for the Huskers by playing as an individual outside the lineup at the Allstate Sugar Bowl Intercollegiate (March 14-16). Ahmed managed a three-round total of 240 (81-79-80) to tie for 63rd individually in an 81-player field. She finished her senior season with an 80.00 stroke average over three rounds.
Following the conclusion of Nebraska's spring season, Ahmed earned an invitation to the PGA WORKS Collegiate Championship at TPC Sawgrass in Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla., May 3-5. In a field of 26 individuals, Ahmed tied for fifth at 231 (79-73-79) with Husker teammate Vanessa Bouvet, and both golfers earned Symetra Tour MVP Invites into the Guardian Championship at the Robert Trent Jones Golf Club at Capitol Hill in Prattville, Ala., Sept. 17-19.
No team events were held during the 2020 fall collegiate season because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
A Sam Foltz 27 Hero Leadership Award winner for her commitment to Nebraska's Life Skills program in 2020-21, Ahmed earned her bachelor's degree as a history major at Nebraska in May of 2021.
Junior (2019-20)
Ahmed earned a lineup spot for the Huskers in the second tournament of the fall and went on to tie for 71st (77-76-78-231) at the Golfweek Conference Challenge (Sept. 23-25) in Wolcott, Colo. Ahmed produced a 77.00 stroke average over three fall rounds.
Sophomore (2018-19)
Ahmed was one of Nebraska’s top performers despite battling injury as a sophomore. Her 76.56 stroke average over 25 rounds ranked third on the team and eighth all time among Nebraska sophomores.
She started the 2019 spring campaign with the best tournament finish of her collegiate career, tying for ninth with a 218 (72-72-74) in a strong field at the Lady Puerto Rico Classic (Feb. 10-12). Ahmed was the top finisher among the 30 Big Ten golfers in the field.
Ahmed followed with a 224 (77-74-73) to help Nebraska to the team title at the Westbrook Spring Invitational in Peoria, Ariz. (Feb. 24-25). Her second-round 74 was part of NU’s best team round of the season (276), propelling the Big Red to their first tournament title since a win at the Mountain View Collegiate in the spring of 2014.
After a slow start to her season, Ahmed finished the fall season by tying for 17th at the rain-shortened Rainbow Wahine Invitational in Kapolei, Oahu, Hawaii (Oct. 31). Her one-over 73 was her fifth straight round of 73 or better to close the fall.
Ahmed finished the fall with Nebraska’s No. 3 stroke average (76.00). She opened the season with a tie for 62nd at 236 (78-79-79) at the Ptarmigan Ram Fall Classic in Fort Collins, Colo. (Sept. 17-19).
She added a tie for 67th at the Golfweek Conference Challenge in Wolcott, Colo. (Sept. 24-26).
Her streak of eight consecutive appearances in the Nebraska lineup came to an end at the Ron Moore Intercollegiate in Highlands Ranch, Colo. (Oct. 5-7), but she still traveled with the Huskers and competed as an individual. Ahmed tied for Nebraska’s No. 2 individual finish at the event, shooting a 229 (77-79-73) to tie for 50th.
Ahmed played her way back into the Big Red lineup for the UNLV Collegiate Showdown (Oct. 21-23) and produced one of her best performances. She fired a season-best three-round total of 217 (72-73-72) to tie for 27th as Nebraska’s No. 2 finisher at the tournament.
She struggled in Nebraska’s final two regular-season tournaments, tying for 72nd with a 246 (85-85-76) at the Lady Buckeye Invitational in Columbus, Ohio (April 13-14). It followed a 238 (83-81-74) to tie for 61st at the Clover Cup in Mesa, Ariz. (March 15-17). She did not compete at the 2019 Big Ten Championships.
Freshman (2017-18)
Ahmed made immediate contributions to the Nebraska lineup in 2017-18. The freshman from Folsom was one of the top golfers in Northern California while competing for Vista del Lago High School, and she closed her first collegiate campaign with Nebraska’s No. 4 individual stroke average (76.45).
Ahmed was also Nebraska’s No. 2 individual finisher at the 2018 Big Ten Championships, tying for 40th at 225 (72-77-76) at TPC River’s Bend in Maineville, Ohio (April 20-22).
Although she did not earn a lineup spot at the season-opening UNO Invitational at ArborLinks in Nebraska City (Sept. 1-2), Ahmed posted NU’s No. 5 finish by tying for 17th with a 231 (76-79-76) while playing as an individual outside Nebraska’s lineup.
She earned the first lineup appearance of her career at the East & West Match Play Challenge in Madison, Wis., (Sept. 17-19). In 36 holes of stroke play on Sept. 17, Ahmed tied for 36th (76-78-154). Ahmed played as an individual outside the lineup at Nebraska’s Chip-N Club Invitational (Oct. 1-3). She tied for 35th (82-79-82-242) in challenging scoring conditions at Wilderness Ridge Golf Course in Lincoln.
She competed in her fourth tournament, again as an individual outside the NU lineup, at the Pinehurst Challenge in North Carolina (Oct. 9-10). Ahmed produced a breakthrough effort in North Carolina, firing three consecutive rounds of even-par-72 to finish with a career-best 216 and tie for 22nd.
Ahmed’s performance at Pinehurst helped her secure the second lineup spot of her career in Nebraska’s fall finale at the UNLV Collegiate Showdown (Oct. 22-24). She played solid golf again in Las Vegas, closing with a 227 (76-73-78) to tie for 63rd.
She opened the spring as Nebraska’s No. 3 finisher at the Lady Puerto Rico Classic (Feb. 11-13). Ahmed managed a three-round total of 240 to tie for 55th. She performed well with a 222 (79-73-70), including a career-best final-round 70, to tie for 59th at the Westbrook Spring Invitational (Feb. 25-26).
Ahmed tied for 48th with a 231 (75-75-81) at the Clover Cup in Mesa, Ariz. (March 16-18), before tying for 45th with a 229 (73-79-77) at the Mountain View Invitational in Tucson, Ariz. (March 23-25).
High School/Amateur
Ahmed came to Nebraska as one of the top players in Northern California. A four-time all-conference golfer for the four-time Capital Athletic League champions at Vista del Lago High School, Ahmed carried a career stroke average of 73.8 as a high school golfer for the two-time San Joaquin Section champions. Ahmed, who qualified for the 2016 California State High School Championships, was the Junior Golf Association of Northern California Match Play Champion in 2013. She also produced multiple top-10 finishes in the Northern California Golf Association in 2015 and 2016.
Ahmed also starred in the classroom, posting a 3.96 grade-point average. She completed eight Advanced Placement classes by the end of her senior year.
Personal
The daughter of Tamer and Hoda Ahmed, Noor was born April 14, 1999, in Austin, Texas. She has one younger brother, Yusuf. Noor earned her bachelor's degree as a history major at Nebraska in May of 2021. She earned academic All-Big Ten honors in 2019. She is a four-time Nebraska Scholar-Athlete Honor Roll selection. She is also a four-time member of the Tom Osborne Citizenship Team.
She chose Nebraska over Sacramento State, San Jose State, Dominican and UNC Greensboro.
