Bloomington- The Nebraska swim and dive team continued competition this morning and multiple Huskers will advance to tonight's finals.
Ohio native Izzie Murray produced a solid start for the Huskers in the 100-yard butterfly. Murray raced to a time of 53.85, placing her as a 17th seed in tonight’s finals. Senior Dana Posthuma will also compete in finals tonight as an 18th seed by swimming a time of 54.08. Both Murray and Posthuma will compete in the C Finals. Clara Walstad (55.32) and Lindsay Stalheim (55.38) slashed their personal bests this morning, as well.
In the 200-yard freestyle, Carla Gonzalez-Garcia raced to a time of 1:47.95, breaking her personal record. Gonzalez will compete in tonight’s C Finals with an 18th seed. This moves Gonzalez up one spot on the Nebraska All-Time Records to ninth overall.
Autumn Haebig produced a strong performance in the 100-yard backstroke. Haebig swam to a time of 53.93, which placed her as the 19th seed in tonight’s C Finals. The Wisconsin native generated a qualifying B-Cut time.
On the three-meter board, Jessica Warak produced 286.60 points (19th) and Hallie Roman produced 252.55 points (38th) in Thursday’s diving preliminaries.
Freshman Sara Troyer totaled 296.25 to put her in 16th place. This qualified her for the consolation final where she placed 11th with 311.75 points.
Abigail Knapton finished the three-meter board in third place with a score of 347.75. Knapton will compete in the final round tonight.
The qualifying Huskers will compete in the finals of these events this evening and continue competition through Saturday.
