The 2008 Huskers feature eight newcomers, including seven freshmen, the most in Head Coach Rhonda Revelle's 16 seasons in charge of the program. The final newcomer is junior Amanda Duran, a transfer from Pima Community College in Tucson, Ariz.

What are the goals for both yourself and for the team this season?
My goals for myself this year are to be an all around player and be able to produce whenever I am called upon. I want to get better with every game mentally as well as physically. My goals this year for the team is to make it to the College World Series, but before that we must come together as one strong unit. I want the team to strive for the same goals and try to fulfill single one.

I believe that this 2008 season will be exciting because we are loaded with so much talent and leadership. We have an amazing junior class who is willing to go the extra mile. Our sophomores are very talented and always hard working. Finally the freshmen are adding some new components to husker softball. The Huskers this year are going to bring something very special to Bowlin Stadium. This year's team has been rejuvenated with youth and talent. Fans will be excited to watch us play because everyone on this team plays with heart. Also everyone on this year's team is a competitor and wants to win, and I think that the fans will be able to sense that positive and fresh energy coming from the field. What are the goals for both yourself and for the team this season?
First goal is to play as one, "Together were better." Play for <?xml:namespace prefix="st1" ns="urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags"?>Nebraska and "Captain your own ship." As a team we are looking for a successful season with a Big 12 title in our hands and a trip to the World Series. My goal for the season is to play for the name on my jersey, do what it takes to make things happen to win, to succeed, to make the team better. When I see a girl on base I automatically know that is a run and will do whatever it takes to bring her in. Last thing is be a leader for my teammates.
